Thai-Combodian Border Sees No Tension

29 September 2009
Thai-ASEAN News Network

The situation along the Thai-Cambodian border is still calm without fresh military movements after the Cambodian leader's aggressive remark against Thailand on the border dispute issue.

Thailand and Cambodia have not deployed more troops around the Preah Vihear Temple yet despite the reported aggressive statement made by Cambodian PM Hun Sen that he will order his troops to shoot whoever trespasses on Cambodian land. The atmosphere at the border area in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak district is still quiet with Thai troops keeping security there.

Meanwhile, residents of Kantharalak's Phumisarol village close to the Thai-Camobdian carry on with their daily activities as usual without concern over a possible clash between Thai and Cambodian troops.

At the border area of Tamuen Thom and Tamuen Kwai temples in Surin province, Thai and Cambodian security forces still carry out their regular patrols along the border. No sign of tension has been seen so far.

I'm Thai if Abhisit Vejjajiva failed what he promised to Thai people that he will do whatever to reclaim the Khao Prah Vihan temple people will demand his resignation. And now he had realized that Cambodia is legitimate owner he is looking like a fool that he was convincing Thai people elected him. He had thought he can restore what the previous government duty to reclaim. Like we knew it too that even the pass PM said the temple and the 4.6km2 is belong to Cambodia.

Now he is putting his political career at odd.

If I were Pol Saroeun, I would set up a battalion of Snipers with McMillan AS 50 sniper rifles. This rifle has accuracy of 2.8km, while the AK 47 accuracy is only 150m from target.

General Pol, if you mean business for all Khmers. I suggests you order some of these weapons from US company. NOW!

How about focus on improving our schools, our economy, and improve the healthcare system within the Kingdom instead of worrying about something that is not even debatable. The f*cking Vietnamese are moving in by the millions and the border encroachment is moving more rapidly in benefiting the Viets. What the f*ck are you CPP fags doing to our country?

Dear Khmers,
As I said before we don't need to go to war. I personally think It's a political game... and It can be solved without war if we are smart and our Cambodian government is willing to do and I strongly believe we can win easily. The United Nations, 1962 Court Decision, and 1991 Paris Accords, these are the most important keys to win on these border issues both with Thailand and Vietnam. Why It takes this too long to talk, talk, talk...then Thailand's troops are still on some of our Cambodia's territory?

Abhisit Vejjajiva is using land invasion as a scaped goat because they are going through their political turm oils. So, their government is trying to change the topic by misleading Seim people to focus on other things rather than on him as an incapable Prime Minister and they know it too well that the Temple is belonging to Khmer people but yet they are trying to make trouble to convey the Thai people to focus on something else rather than on him, on the other hand, it is a way of getting their people back on track, like instead of fighting with each why not fight with the Khmer? This is called politic! They are trying to promote love and unity for their own people and stop fighting each other. So, therefore Khmer government needs to learn more about politicians' intention because it could lead into an effective outcome for the whole nation just like Thai government does. Aust

Thai looks down on Khmers but they are outspoken. They want our land but they show their intent. However, the Viets are quiet about their intent even though 5 Million of them are deep inside Cambodia. Which one is more dangerous?
