China becomes Cambodia's biggest development partner: PM
PHNOM PENH, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Monday that China became a biggest development partner that has assisted to build Cambodia's infrastructure.
"China is a big country but they always respected us the small one. China has always followed our decision for constructing the infrastructure in Cambodia. That is the greatest value for us," he said while attending the closing ceremony of the Prek Kdam Bridge which is under preferential buyer's credit loan from China.
"I have always told Chinese leadership that the assistance from China not only helps economic and social development in Cambodia but also helps Cambodia to strengthen the independence of Cambodian politics," he added.
He pointed out that "the good cooperation and relationship between the two countries also got the in-heritage from former king father Preah Norodom Sihanouk because former king exercised one china policy in years and I myself has been continuing to do it."
China has a special habit, he noted, which is that Chinese speak less but do a lot and it is good point, adding that "I could work with Chinese leaders. China always keeps quiet but they offered the assistance for us and do more for us, and their assistance is without conditions."
He also highlighted that he has worked with three Chinese prime ministers including Li Peng and Zhu Rongji and has been continuing to work with Prime Miniter Wen Jinbao. Moreover, he said "Chinese leaders' language are easy to understand because Chinese side has always said that assistance from them focus on the infrastructure projects on economic development effectively and helps poverty reduction in the country."
"I also thanked Chinese side that they considered me as their old friend. We have confidence each other in cooperation between the two countries," he said.
"We all thanked Chinese government and their people for their efforts which have contributed to develop Cambodia's infrastructure." He asked the Chinese ambassador who are in the presence to convey his words to the Chinese side.

Total debt by Hun Sen to China is $6.7 billion. Hanoi colateraled Cambodia to get Russia loan in billions prior to 1993 plus India, US, France,Germany and Arab nations.This is excluded Hanoi incurred laons during war and after 1979.
Hun Sen is a liability to Cambodia survival and independence. Now he loves China more than Hanoi after Siahnouk adopted him during Peace negotiation.
Foreign debts made Hun Sen and his cronies in ministries wealthier.
Like it or not Hun Sen is responsible for Cambodia future generation welfare and indepen-dence.
Hang on to or hang him before debters hang Cambodia.

H S and his clique have been so much enjoying plundering Khmers'wealth Cambodia is so poor its people cannot develop the once-glorified kingdom with it. Thus public spending on infrastructure is so little and is borrowed from China in a little transparency which is recorded as public debt. That means common Khmers will bear the payback while the irresponsible leaders and elite groups will never care about it.KhOpen

I can assure you that I was a Khmer Rouged cadre, I jointed the soldier on May 1974 in the jungle I was 16 year old of age and also, my uncle jointed Khmer Rouge soldier since 1970 when we captured Angkor Wat temple and the vicinity were closed. During the Vietnam invaded 1979 I immediately ran to Thailand I had a Thai wife and letter on devoice her because she refused to live in Cambodia with me. She loved me because the way I looked and attracted to her. I was a young good-looking Black Khmer man that time. I learned English all years around. I was a young Cambodian smart led who had been helped and saved people lives even thought I was a Khmer Rouge cadre. I hate Chackrupot Americ because they bombed and did not help my country. Khmer Rouges NOT all were uneducated as to what you and other people state here in this forum. Currently, I live in Cambodia, I work at night shift sometime day shift thus I am able to communicate with you guy here (KI Media news) and enjoy providing any comments, suggestions and respect to the people. We all Khmers (Khmer Rouge), stop accusing too much on Khmer Rouge, it’s not going to any good. I wish the country could turn back to day one again, because I hate people.

In the 60's Sihanouk claimed the same thing as Hun Sen did. Among donor countries, Sihanouk Claimed, China is the only one country which provided aid without condition. At that time China built cement factory, plywood factory etc... as aid to Cambodia. Guess what China did? China, sent their people from China to train khmer workers in those factories, while at the same time spread communism ideology among khmer workers and turned those workers into Khmer Rouge. Do Khmers learn lesson from history? I don't think so.
