my condolence to the families of those victims.
the safety standard, not just at this tragic ferry point, but at many other ferry crossing points accross the country warrent inspection and tight enforcement of safety standard from the govt !
my observation is that until or unless accident like this took place, will those govt officials move their ass to act .....
Cheap life in Cambodia !
This is sad indeed. Very un-necessary lost of lives. Most Cambodians don't know how to swim. They should teach kids how to swim at school. I'm sure if these people know how to swim it would be different result.. They are so young. My condolence to the victims' families.
I have known one such case in Cambodia where a full grown man died of drowning because he couldn't swim, the sad part was his friends saw him drowning but thought he was joking and they laughed at him instead. He yelled out for help a couple of times…..then disappeared under water.

May their poor souls rest in peace and I hope our gov't has learnt from this incident and try to create a new law to protect everyone equally, e.g. there should be limited numbers of people on each boat, depending on how big or how small it is like, 4.5 metre long * 1.8 metre width and the maximam number of people 5. If anyone breaks the law, he/she should be charged accordingly. Aust

Concerns
The flood and blood are headed toward the Tuol Krasaing compound.
The mansion Hun Sen just built is also has tunnel running to and from the Tuol Krasaing compound. If flood is headed toward that direction, we have to celebrate.
ah mother fucker, Hun Sen planned this incidence.
Anyhow, my condolence to the families of the victims. May all of you go up to heaven and don't ever be born again as Khmer. Please go find a pleaceful nation...with love, caring, and respect for human kinds.

let it be a wake up call for reform and improvement of cambodia antiquated transportation system, really. this disaster is prone to happen, however, it is called for modernization of the country's infrastructure as well. wake up, cambodia! don't let it happen again!
it is also a wake up call for everyone who live near the waterway system in cambodia to learn how to swim as in water survival training, etc..., as this could help save lives, really! wake up!
