The Cambodian Appeal Court is currently considering the defamation lawsuit case embroiling Mrs. Mu Sochua and PM Hun Sen. In France, Sam Rainsy is preparing himself to confront Hor 5 Hong in a defamation lawsuit case which is now in appeal. The fights for justice between the two major political parties are shaping up at a time when Cambodia is under heavy criticism for undermining freedom of expression.
The public is waiting to see the future fate of Mrs. Mu Sochua and that of Sam Rainsy, the former at the Cambodian Appeal Court and the latter at the French Appeal Court. Opposition MP Mu Sochua showed up at the Appeal Court on Friday afternoon to defend her defamation lawsuit case against Hun Sen.
Opposition leader Sam Rainsy also left Cambodia to France at the end of September to prepare himself to face the French Appeal Court in a defamation case also. Hor 5 Hong, the minister of Foreign Affairs, is Sam Rainsy’s legal opponent.
Both Mrs. Mu Sochua and Sam Rainsy lost their cases in Cambodia and France, respectively. Both of their opponents in these lawsuit cases are extremely powerful Cambodian government officials. However, the two famous opposition officials do not concede their defeats.
Mrs. Mu Sochua, the strident opponent of Hun Xen, told reporters at the Appeal Court yesterday afternoon that she still maintains her accusation against Hun Xen for defaming her [in his speech held] in Kampot at the beginning of April.
In Kampot, Hun Xen said that there is a “Cheung Khlang” (thug) woman in this province who likes to create problems with others. This woman ran to hug someone, but then turned around and accused that person of unbuttoning her blouse instead. This is the topic of the lawsuit raised by Mrs. Mu Sochua. However, her lawsuit was rejected by the Phnom Penh municipal court because it claimed that Hun Xen did not name anyone.
In the case of Sam Rainsy, he was also accused by Hor 5 Hong of defamation after he wrote a book in which he accused Hor 5 Hong of being the former Boeung Trabek jail chief under the KR regime. In this case, the French court also let Hor 5 Hong win the case over Sam Rainsy.
The fights for justice between politicians from both parties were the reason for the criticisms that freedom of expression is undermined in Cambodia.

It is not relevant comment, and that is the case of defamation.
They continue to fight for justice that you blindly perceive as show case.
That is to prove how many of that ignorant official like you, claimed to be secretary of a ministry in cambodia?

Whatever these two opposition leaders are doing is not helpful to cambodian people.
If they want to help the country they need to sit down and find the alternate solutions from the Gov. instead of spending time pointing finger to existing Gov. It is not productive.
When opposition party popularity is going down hill, first thing you need to look at is themself. Cambodian people are not stupid. They know who sacrified their life for the country and who are spending time in the foreign country and waitting for the good opportunity to grap power.
I have a sugession for the opposition party, why don't they put all their ideas on the internet on how to solve the existing problem in Cambodia so people can read and review it. If you do that then people can see how different your idea are from the Gov. Don't just point out on what the Gov. did wrong you need to offer the alternative solution also (Example: Eviction case). Maybe you can get more support that way.
For God sake ! China just celebrate their 60 years under communist rule and they are proud of themself. China is already moved on. As you know what happened in China it also happened in Cambodia. Instead of fighting about the past, China is focusing on the future. Which one is more productive ??????

Quite true that khmer politicians need to move forward with changes.
Are you speaking on behalf govt?.
What we have commented on is govt should adopt changes and open minded. If govt officials still deny of what have managed affected cambodian badly, then desirable outcomes will never reached.
Main difficulty is to get govt accept that respecting human rights is poor, and that what we are on about. Abuse of power led to pain and sufferings that khmers have faced. Be responsible is to admit that lack of respect of khmer rights and rectify mistakes which impact cambodians.
Political parties are only colors.
Khmer politicians have to drive themselve out of that norm' loosing face'. It is no longer relevant to the changing world.
Ethics has to be inserted every sector, both govt and private, to ensure abuses are minimised.
In buddhism, 4 basic needs are always offered to human kind, those are called Pachey 4: foods, clothings, shelter, medication, offered through the monks for gratitude and compassion.
Thus Human rights and buddhist concept of human needs is relatively the same.
So,be true to Buddhism as leaders, and please do not undermine them.

Folks, please don't New Phally too much. One doctor just told me that these few weeks New Phally appeared to be mentally ill, but his illness can't be cured by medical means. There's only one efficiently possible way to cure him. His doctor suggested the use of a baseball bat to hit his head three timea but count as once. If once doesn't work, repeat the same method again and again, and soon he will come back to normal.
correction: please don't mind. . .

Keep our country alive
It is time to reflect about what went wrong in World War 1 and World War 2. Now is the 21st century and we all need to learn from past mistakes and turn it into a positive learning outcome. It is very important to prevent war from happening again and it is very easy solution, we must all work together as a team. To be honest I am a khmer indo-chinese, e.g. there six different Asian nations in me and you all are my brothers and sisters and I don't want to see you guys fighting with each other anymore. On the other hand, maybe try to focus on skilled migration intakes to increase in population growth because they are the foundation of keeping our nations’ heritage and country alive and well into the future.
King N.Sihanouk lost to Hor 5 Hong and paid fine to him.
This time, Sam Rainsy will go the same way like the King case because he has no witneses to support his case.
If Duch support Sam Rainsy, he will win.
what is candle got to do with justice in cambodia? or is it for political gain? comon!! action would speak for itself no need candle.
so what's a fuck of those guys doing? These people never helping khmer people during flooding in Cambodia country.Don' let fuck all those guys stay in Cambodia so all khmer people have to knock these down some days in the future.
yes, who says democracy was easy? if it were easily no one has to fight for it all over the world, really! god bless cambodia in the long run.
