[United Arab Emirates'] Al Mansouri meets Cambodian PM

Phnom Penh/Cambodia, Oct 17th, 2009 (WAM)--UAE Economy Minister HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri has met Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, where they discussed potential resources of each side to explore setting up of joint investment ventures, particularly in the field of irrigation, agricultural land reclamation and telecommunications.

The Cambodian PM hailed the progress being experienced by the UAE, stressing that his country was looking forward to strengthening strategic relations with the UAE through wooing investments into Cambodia.

On his part, Al Mansouri lauded the plans of the Cambodian government to build distinguished relations with the UAE, indicating that promising investments opportunities have been explored during the visit.

Earlier, the UAE minister met with Cambodian Agricultural Minister and discussed cooperation between the two countries, focusing on the agricultural land reclamation for long term investment. It has also been agreed to set a team to study opportunities in the agricultural sector in Cambodia.

The Cambodian minister welcomed the UAE plans of the land reclamation in Cambodia, indicating Cambodia will be a partner to the UAE in regard to the agriculture.

Al Mansouri underscored that "we look forward to building strategic food reserve to achieve food security and supply the whole region, adding that Cambodia will be "our strategic partner for achieving the strategic food security.

2:28AM- Cambodia is in need of foreign investors, so please leave the PM alone so he can do his job. you can't just keep your mouth shut no matter where the country is moving forward? It's your country too and you don;t do a dam thing but critic, critic, and critics.

critic is good for any government. its democratic, its a check and balance. Its keep government responsible and from over doing things.

Why are you so cranky 6:39 AM ? Are you constipated again ? You hun sen hanoi government have no credential. ?

The whole world know that they are crooked and currupted! How can a poor country like cambodia with the PM in power over 25 yrs and worth many billions of dollars. While the people are suffering and getting evicted everyday.

After US bomb and destroyed Japan during WWII it took Japan only 8 years to make a come back and becomes one of the giant economy in the world and look at Ah Kwak ! with all the billions aid pour in Cambodian is still considered as a poorest country on earth...people get evicted! lives and eats trashes!

YeP! 11AM you got that right!from 1979'till now 30 years Cambodia is still on of a poorest country on earth! very shameful! compared to Japan with no aid, it took them only 8 years to recover!and become economic power on earth!

I am not trying to defend the present Hun Sen government, but you cannot compare Japan with Cambodia. Even before WWII Japan was already a highly industrialized nation capable of building warplanes(Mitsubishi Zeros models) you must have seen in the movies, as well as carriers. Cambodia was a backward country under Sihanouk and still is under Hun Sen.
