VNA (Hanoi)
A Vietnamese representative to the UN talked about situations in Cambodia and Myanmar at the 12th session of the UN Human Rights Council that closed on October 2.
In regard to the council’s technical assistance and capacity building for Cambodia, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Dung hailed recent achievements in politics, economics, society and culture recorded by the Cambodian government and people as well as progress in implementing basic and free human rights in the country.
Ambassador Dung, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations Office, WTO and other international organisations in Geneva, mentioned outstanding issues and challenges the Cambodian government is facing and called on the international community and the Council to further provide technical assistance in order to help the country overcome its difficulties and challenges.
Regarding Myanmar’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other political prisoners, the Vietnamese diplomat noted that adoption of a resolution on people is a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
Vietnam claimed that only periodic review mechanism is the most suitable one of the Council to discuss human rights situation in countries. Therefore, the international community’s continued co-operation and assistance for Myanmar are very important and will be effective once they base on co-operation with the government and people of Myanmar, Ambassador Dung said.
The 12th session of the UN Human Rights Council adopted 28 resolutions and three decisions and reports of a series of countries, including Vietnam, under the periodic review mechanism.
The next session will take place from March 1-29 next year.

To those who claim that their current leaders are good and I thereto agree, but to me they are good at:
*making a big concession by giving part of our land and isles to Yuons for invading Cambodia and installing them in power.
*allowing Yuons to flow endlessly into Cambodia, so they can vote for them.
*giving Yuon more rights than Khmer citizens have, so Yuons can insult and control Khmers.
*robbing Khmer people and depriving them of their land.
*violating human rights and threatening or killing those who are not supporting them.
*provoking all kind of violence.
*degrading moral value of Khmer religion and tradition.
*stealing 2/3 of national revenue in order to make themselves rich and happy while the coutry's economy got flattened and Khmer people are poorer and suffering. This government is corrupted from head to toes.
*slowly turning this country of ours into a military-ruled one, so in the near future only them can be the sole owners of it.
I hope those folks would agree with me, because we can share something in common.
Was it 1977 or 1978 that the KR rounded up all the Vietnamese in Cambodia and killed them? What the hell are we going to do with all of these Viets when Cambodia become independent again? We cannot and should never immitate the KR tactics but the amount of Viets in Cambodia is getting really rediculous!
It's funny when Viet is defending Cambodia on human rights issue because viet itself needs to impoved on human rights too.
Ah Van Cow Dung is speaking from his arse! Cambodia doesn't need this Vietcong to speak for them. Since the Vietcong are violating the Khmer Krom basic human right and what the hell is he trying to do by bullshitting at the UN of how great Cambodian human right under Ah hung zen leadership! It seem that Ah Van Cow Dung know about Cambodia than his country Vietnam!
Ah Van Cow Dung,
You are invading and Vietnamising Cambodia.
Stop telling a lie, Viet invaders.
