1- Early 30’s: As a young boy, I was accepted at the Elementary School for young girls built by Samdechs Sutharot, my paternal grandparents, next to their home, for their beloved Little People,
I was the only “boy” in this school for girls!! This did not intimidate me; quite to the contrary, I felt that I was “privileged” because I only had (young) “fresh flowers” as classmates; the most “interesting” of these “flowers” was named “Mech”; when it rained, Miss Mech, most likely born into a poor family, did not have an umbrella and the rain wetted all her white clothes and her “fresh” flesh could be seen: this interested me prodigiously!!! Such “precociousness”!! But, my “love” for the cute Miss Mech remained “platonic.”
I built for her a beautiful stupa. Unfortunately, the Lonnolian putschists stole the gold urn containing her ashes and they threw her ashes into a trash can.
My ashes and, later, those of my wife Monineath, will be deposed in the stupa built for my favorite daughter, Ah Mech, [located] near the great stupa of my parents (at the Silver Pagoda in Phnom Penh).

2- It was in memory of this young lady (born from the Little People) that I named “Mech” (her official name was Kantha Bopha) my favorite daughter at her birth (in 1948). My other favorite daughter was Sorya Roeungsy (born in 1947), (both of them were borne by the same mother, H.R.H. Princess Sisowath Pongsanmoni, daughter of H.M. King Preah Sisowath Monivong).x x

Royal family can only associate with royal family. It's understandable that there wasn't too many of them around. I certainly agree with 7:51. Khmer - Midi historical facts just want to defame King - Father His Majesty. During that time it was common to marry within your family becuase it was a thing of bloodlines. You had to ensure that the blood of your children were true and pure of the Angkorian Kings. Kings had tons of wives and children to protect the throne from invading armies like Thailand and Vietnam.
In China the Emperor had more than 500 children and the Monarchs of Europe are all related to one another becuase of marriage. The married each other becuase they wanted to secure themselves not with commoners. But as time progress there was more free will to marry whom one wished to marry. But during the time also there wasn't much freedom within the royal palace itself.
Please do not attack His Majesty. He is just wanting to recound his stories so they are not lost in time. Thus, his children and grandchildren can know the story that has been passed on. Many of you may not understand but some people still want to be remember and not another person who died.
What Lon Nol did with the ashes of Kantha Bopha was wrong and unhuman. We must respect the dead becuase they are gone. How would we feel if our mothers, grandmothers ashes were thrown in the trash bin while we were on a holiday. We would enjoy it much.
