SINGAPORE: The on-going spat between Cambodia and Thailand is of concern to the ministers at the APEC meetings and ASEAN.

This follows the arrival of former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on Tuesday to take up his post as the country's economic advisor.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the APEC symposium, Singapore's Foreign Minister George Yeo said that ASEAN Secretary-General Surin Pitsuwan had called him on the subject two days ago.

Dr Surin had also written to ASEAN foreign ministers urging both parties to find a way to resolve their problems.

Mr Yeo said member countries are concerned about the bilateral issue and hope they would exercise restraint.

He added that ASEAN is happy to accommodate if the countries want to use the grouping's facilities to solve the problem. However, Cambodia and Thailand have yet to make a request.

On the upcoming US-ASEAN meeting, Mr Yeo believes both sides would be discussing about facilitating trade and investments.

The yellow-shirt and their PM Abhisit shot themselves in the foot. Enjoy the show my fellow Khmers.

Mr. Hun Sen is scoring a major point, and Thai University will soon give him another Ph D for his brillant and courageous move.

I am extremely proud of PM Hun Sen. This is the first time we see a Khmer leader win the battle without firing a single shot.

Thai current government is totally humiliated on the international arena while PM Hun Sen triumphs.

Every Khmers should be proud of this moment.

Long live to the Khmer Nation!

First Thing comes First.

If Mr. Pitsuwan realy want to use ASEAN forum to solve Thai-Cambodian problems, he should start from the first problem, which is Preah Vihear and its surounding area.

Any bias would make ASEAN credibility down to the floor.

ASEAN is afraid of losing face to the world because they refused to solve the problem of Thai-Cambodian conflict. Now they are barking, for what? Surin Pitsuwan is prejudice against Cambodia. He fools ASEAN.

Ah Surin trying to prevent Taksin going back to power by asking the ASEAN to intervene. He knew that the situation could lead to allowing Taksin to run for PM next election and definetely Taksin will win. That's why Apeeshit is panicking now.
