Beware of the Thaksin-Hun Sen trap: Prawase

November 14, 2009
THE NATION
[Prawase] urged Thais to view the Cambodians with kindness as Thailand is like an adult while Cambodia is a child. Thailand has more population, greater military might and economic power, he said.
Respected [Thai] social critic Prawase Wasi warned the [Thai] government yesterday not to fall into a trap set by fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra and Cambodian leader Hun Sen, who were "in a temporary alliance for some purposes".

Prawase also warned against fuelling feelings of patriotism among the people, which he said could lead to hatred against people in the neighbouring country and even a war between the two nations.

"I don't want the news [of the renewed spat between Thailand and Cambodia] to be reported in a way that would cause hatred among the peoples of the two countries. I want people to be aware that this is just a temporary issue of politicians," said Prawase.

He said ordinary citizens should not allow themselves to become victims of politicians, and politicians should not lead their people to war.

"I'd like to warn the government not to become a tool of Hun Sen and Thaksin," he added.

Prawase, a Magsaysay Award winner, said he suspected Hun Sen's trump card would be to lead his country into a war with Thailand in order to deflect the public's attention from his faults.

He urged Thais to view the Cambodians with kindness as Thailand is like an adult while Cambodia is a child. Thailand has more population, greater military might and economic power, he said.

Meanwhile, 22 MPs and 15 senators yesterday signed a letter demanding that Ramkhamhaeng University revoke its honorary degree awarded to Hun Sen due to his interference in Thailand's political affairs and his lack of diplomatic manners.

One of the MPs, Watchara Phetthong (Democrat-Bangkok), represented the group in submitting the letter to Parliament President Chai Chidchob to forward to the university.

Watchara also said the Army should stop providing Hun Sen and his family with free healthcare at a state-run hospital in Bangkok, an arrangement that has allegedly been going on for decades.

Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart said yesterday that he expected the row between the two countries to worsen, with the Cambodian government likely to expel all Thai diplomats in Phnom Penh and order the closure of the Thai Embassy there.

You Prawase! urged Thais to view the Cambodians with kindness as Thailand is like an adult while Cambodia is a child. Thailand has more population, greater military might and economic power, he said.

Can you motherfucker think??

Military might my ass, since when you control the world?

Since when you fought abroad and claim you have a military might?

The thai are always wanting to resort to violence...it's their nature. Just like the Abeshit...when he couldn't win the election, he conspired with the military general and took over the government and kicked Taksin out.

BUT, Thai's leadership style is INFANT. Adult or child can't be defined by the size of population or military might.

Your military might can't be compared to ragtag Khmer Rogue..LOL>>HAHAHAHAHAH

I thought it is the other way around, Cambodia is the older brother while Thailand is the younger, grew bigger and stronger more military might and turning bak on his older brother.

It's laughable that this siem fool Prawase thinks thiefland is like an adult while Cambodia is a child. It is more like we, Khmers, are your fathers and mothers and you, siems, are contemptible children.

Let's re-examine his comment again so that we, Khmers, should never trust these low life siems "He urged Thais to view the Cambodians with kindness as Thailand is like an adult while Cambodia is a child". As you can see there is a word "kidness" in the comment. So it is very likely in public places in neutral locations, a siem person may approach you with their sweet words and manner almost a feminine like. You might be mistaken that this scum is truly genuine with you. But they are not. As soon as you are out sight, they start talking bad about you. So do take these people as they are a grain of salt. They are not genuine but thieves and liars. Scums of the earth.
