A job being offered to Thailand's convicted former prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, is threatening to turn into a full-blown diplomatic incident.

Cambodia's Prime Minister, Hun Sen, has engaged Mr Thaksin as an economic advisor, ignoring moves by Thailand to extradite Mr Thaksin for corruption.

In response, Thailand recalled its ambassador from Phnom Penh and Cambodia has responded in kind.
