An army of Thai and foreign reporters this morning flocked into Rong Kruea border market in Sra Kaew province to wait for Puea Thai MPs who went to see ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in Siem Reap yesterday.
The opposition MPs are scheduled to return to the eastern border province at about 11am on Saturday, after seeing Thaksin leaves Cambodia for Dubai.
Local people in Sra Keaw are concerned that the government would close Thai-Cambodia border after the diplomatic dispute between the two countries is escalating.
Secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (Asean) Surin Phitsuwan on Friday called on all member countries to help in settling the dispute before the Asean-US summit on Sunday.
