Reports said there were only housekeepers at the Cambodian embassy.Recalling the Thai ambassador to Phnom Penh was the right decision by the government, former foreign minister Tej Bunnag said on Sunday.
The government decided to recall its ambassador to Phnom Pehn after former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was appointed as Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen's economic advisor. The Cambodian government recalled its ambassador to Thailand subsequently.
Mr Tej, who was foreign minister during the Samak Sundaravej administration, said the government's plan to terminate its offshore border agreement with Cambodia would slightly affect both countries, since the resources will still be in the area.
The Foreign Ministry will propose the idea of scrapping the agreement to the cabinet on Tuesday.
The government should create unity in the country first before discussing this issue with Cambodia, Mr Tej said.
On Asean secretary-general Surin Pitsuwan's call for other Asean member countries to help address the Thai-Cambodian dispute, Mr Tej said he could not tell how they can help improve the situation.
Meanwhile, the situation around the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok was normal.
150 police officers were deployed to oversee security around the area, and more police will be reinforced to prevent a third party from inciting unrest.
Reports said there were only housekeepers at the Cambodian embassy.

Smart up Khmer people, do not engage in full-scale war with thailand which could only unite YELLOW and RED against us. We must at all costs keep the tais divided with a simmering conflict on land and at sea. Sooner or later they will kill each other in a power struggle. Whoever the winner will emerge badly weakened. Then we finish them off once and for all. Patience will pay handsome dividends.
they will unite against the outsider. unlike us once we hate one another. it's for life. if one to be excute, the whold blood line will be excute also. because the fear of revenge. that is khmers.
I really want to see thai and siame fighting. there is no rest between thai and saime for now on.
I think it would be nice if Abhisit comes to cambodia and lived with them for at least a few weeks and then he will know that cambodian are having as much previlege to live like everyone else around the world. we only human! we eat fish, ducks, chicken and rice just like Thai do. The only different is language but we can understand by translating it!in the end we are no different from each other. So, have a life guys before it is too late. The question is; is the land belongs to people or people belong to the land?. or can you live past one hundred years old, it is unlikely don't you think? So, be smarter, teach each other to live for today as today is more important than yesterday and live it as it is the last day of your life for we really don't know what will happen tomorrow? Aust
Instead of focussing on Thaksin...I think Abhisit should call for a fresh election in Thailand and see who should run Thailand democratically.
Tej Bunnag, man of two cent advice, no matter abhisit acts like a fool
To Hun Sen (Leader of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime)
Since you and the CPP assassinated, executed, killed and murdered jurnalists, political opponents, leaders of the free trade union, innocent men, innocent women and innocent children;
Do you have any plan to assassinate the Thai prime minister (Abhisit Vejjajiva)?
Are you going to send Brigade 70 (Hun Sen's Death Squad Unit) to assassinate the Thai prime minister (Abhisit Vejjajiva)?
Is it true, you only kill your own peoples, you will not kill Thai and Veitnamese peoples that cannot get enough of our land?
Is it true, you only kill innocent Khmer peoples with no weapon in their hands?
