BANGKOK, Nov 13 (TNA) - Thailand's Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya on Friday said Cambodia's arrest of a Thai man allegedly spying on fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra was a false accusation against the Thai citizen.
Mr Kasit made the comments before leaving the kingdom for Singapore with Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to attend the 17th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting scheduled to be held there November 13-15.
The Thai premier declined to give any comment following media report that Cambodian police on Thursday arrested a Thai employee working for Cambodia Air Traffic Service (CATS) for releasing information related to the national security of Cambodia.
Cambodian Deputy National Police Chief Lt-Gen. Sok Phal was quoted by the Associated Press as saying 31-year-old Siwarak Chothipong handed over the flight schedule of Mr Thaksin to the first secretary at the Thai embassy to Phnom Penh.
Cambodian government expelled the Thai first secretary on Thursday evening reasoning that "he had carried out an undisclosed activity in contradiction to his position." The Thai government decided to ask the Cambodian first secretary to Bangkok to leave Thailand within 48 hours, in retaliation.
Mr Kasit said that the arrest of the Thai man by Cambodian police is a false accusation, adding that he has instructed the remaining seven Thai embassy officials in Phnom Penh to study Cambodia's judicial procedures.
The Thai foreign minister was on mission at the APEC meeting in Singapore but returned to Bangkok late Thursday to meet with the premier after Phnom Penh expelled a senior Thai embassy official.
The Thai premier said after discussing with Mr Kasit Friday morning that his cabinet will review joint projects with the Cambodian government and may consider freezing the Bt14 billion loan for the neighbouring country.
The Cambodian government is attempting to stir up the situation, but Thailand has to think carefully and will not "dance to the tune of the neighbouring country", Mr Abhisit said.
"What we have done is in accordance with principles and is nothing special," the prime minister said. "The Cambodian moves will not distract the government's concentration on other pressing issues."
Regarding the accusation of the convicted ex-Thai premier against the Abhisit government for "false patriotism," the Thai premier said that the current patriotism is instigated by Mr Thaksin's behaviour which was not accepted by the Thai people, not by the government.

Thailand has spy on cambodia everyday, flown their military plane over cambodia, violated cambodia airspace...? Khmer military should shot one down to teach them some lessons...!
