Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda Friday ruled out possibility of entering the political arena after his retirement.
Anupong was giving a speech during a New Year party held by him for Army-beat reporters.
"If you ask if I play politics or not, I'll say 'No'. I will not play politics. I will not accept any post. I've never thought about setting up a political party as some journalists have written," Anupong said.
He said his service as the Army chief is running out in not many months and he has not got involved in politics.

It's a great relieve to hear from Gen. Anupong personally that he will not join politic. Few weeks ago there was news spin from Thaksin outlet saying that Gen. Anupong will form a political party and join with Peu Thai party. I wonder why he did not come out and deny it then?

Hun Sen who first as Khmer Rouge commander in east region, and then as Foreign Minister, and Prime Minister holding with absolute power for 30 years in this tiny kingdom which shares over one half
of its national boundaries with Yuon vietcong.
During the World War II, and the Japanese occupation from 1940 to 1945, the year of Japanese defeat. This was followed by the reconquest of Indochina by the allies forces, bringing with the triumphal return of the French to that region.
During the year of 1940 Thailand controled the entire province of Battabang and part of the province of Siem Reap. The Thai occupation in these provinces lasted from 1941to 1945.
From 1945 to 1954, Cambodia had to face two great problems.
• The first was the political struggle with French for complete independence.
• The second proplem was the danger from the expansion of the Vietnamese forces known by the same of Viet Minh, who carried out guerrilla operations against the Frence presence in Indochina.
The Viet Minh troops in Cambodia continued to expand gradually as the political and military situation of the regime in power deteriorated.
The Viet Minh forces established themselves more and more deeply in Cambodia. Their method was to move into certain frontier regions to facilitate taking over particular areas in the interior of Cambodia just before the singing of the Geneva agreements in 1954.
On January 7, 1979 North Vietnam reconquer and occupation until 1989and the singing of the Paris peace agreements in october 23, 1991.
If all of these happened once, it will happen again.
We khmer encourage Thailand to liberate Cambodia from Vietnam occupation and repression and have regime change...
Thailand can uses SEATO to liberate Cambodia and set up a new government just like North Vietnam did in 1979 for Hun Sen regime.
I'd rather live with Thai better than under Yuon and Yuon slaves.

Cambodia diplomatic relations with Thailand, which had been broke once in 1961 and present time should not be Reestablishment.
Let Cambodia isolate from world economic and sanction them as 1979, untill the situation have a regime change and then start to normalize with a new healthy government established, Mr. Sam Rainsy is the only person for Cambodia.
Let start mobilize SEATO forces now in order to deal with the invasion, so, Thailand can uses legal term as "Liberator" not "Invader".
Cambodian are so happy to see the regime fall and Restoration of diplomatic relations with Thailand in the future.
Anupong Paochinda, your governments had help supplies weapons to Pol Pot's army and killed so many cambodian people, don't play dumb to the world, everybody knew how bad and cruelty your governments are....if you Thais people invade us again, we will wipe you out of the MAP!

Right "never say never". After King Pumipon dies, Anupong will jump into politics and his regime will be no different than Junta in Burma.
I almost can bet that Aupong will be supported by the US to keep China out of Thailand. Because the US' new strategies toward Burma now soft and even encourage Junta to fight against China. That's why China formed a group of rebels from WA to fight against Junta.
With the US influence Anupong will not allow Thailand to fall into the hands of Chinese.

I like your comment. I do too, I'd rather with Thais who share the same culture and languages are almost the same with Khmers, but not with Yuon.

Mr. Sam Rainsy and his party non-violence policy towards Hun Sen/CPP will not and never be able to work and Vietnam does not want to understand what is democracy, what is human rights and what is oppressed, colonized, occupied Cambodia who once upon a time fed, sheltered and supported the Crocodile Vietnam to win over United States Arm forces in Vietnam War.
On 16th December, 2009 Mr. Hun Sen said in Cambodian public that Mr. Sam Rainsy will not be tolerated again this time, he must come into Cambodia and go to Prey Sar prison (sic), or he should ask Thai government to let him form a Khmer Exile Government at the Khmer-Thai territory along the Western border.
What Mr. Sam Rainsy ought to do is neither go to Prey Sar prison nor go to Vietnamese court in Hanoi. If, I were Mr. Sam Rainsy I would negotiate with Mr. Abbhisit Vejjajiva the Thai prime minister to follow Mr. Hun Sen’s suggestion of forming a Khmer Exile Government at the Thai-Cambodia border. I can assure you there will be 100 of thousands Khmers inside Cambodia will come to join the new Khmer Exile Government like in 1979’s.
Khmer King Norodom Sihamoni appointed Thaksin Shinawatra as Hun Sen’s adviser. Therefore, Mr. Sam Rainsy can form a Khmer Exile Government along Khmer-Thai border too. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WHICH CAN bring Vietnam and their slave Mr. Hun Sen/CPP to respect the 23rd October, 1991 Paris Peace Agreement by convening another international conference on Cambodia.

Just a few thoughts for you:
1. do you think Thailand has the money to back up or to support Sam Raingsy?
2. what is it for Thailand in order for them to back our struggle?
3. Do you think Thailand and Sam Raingsy forces combined can defeat Hun Sen forces + Vietnam forces?
4. Maybe if Khmers peasants join Sam Raingsy forces, half of the country and yes maybe we will win over the current puppet government without even Thai support or else we owe the Thais?
5. let's say we win over the current puppet government! what make you sure that Hun Sen under the auspices of Vietnam doesn't split Cambodia in half like A Chakrapong and give the other half to Vietnam?
Either way your suggestions is not realistic, the best way is to protest on a grand scale including people power and sacrificing one's life like the monk did against Diem government back in 1963? so don't just put out nonsense ideas....

Mr. Hun Sen says there are 100,000 North Vietnamese Communist armed forces still occupying Cambodia everyday and they stay on top of his head.
Eyes witnesses say there are 4 to 5 million illegal Vietnamese communists also occupying Cambodia to give illegal votes to Mr. Hun Sen and his CPP illegitimate government.
My appeal to President Barack Obama are:
(A)***** Can the United States of America rescue Cambodia from Vietnamese communist government who through their puppet Mr. Hun Sen/CPP government are swallowing Cambodia now??? Your past policies in helping Cambodia on Human Rights, Democracy, Health and education were so great, but they will not stop Vietnamese government from swallowing Khmer country in the near future.
Cambodia always wanted to be USA’s allies in her own independent right, not through the satellite of Hanoi government.
(B)***** Can the United States of America stay in Cambodia for ever by not deserting Cambodia and leaving innocent Khmers as the most trusted US ally to be slaughtered by Vietcong/NVA/Khmer Rouge soldiers (prince Sirimatak Sisowath last letter in March 1975 to then US Ambassador John Anthony Dean) like the USA did on the 12th of April 1975???
(C)***** Can the United States of America rescue Cambodia from the dictator Mr. Hun Sen the same way as America rescued Iraqi people from the dictator Mr. Saddam Hussein???
(D)***** Can the United States of America do it now either by law or by force, before the Hanoi government completely swallows Khmer people and Khmer land through its puppet Mr. Hun Sen/CPP government.
President Obama, by helping all Khmers inside Cambodia to stand up strong and tall against the dictatorship and corruption of Mr. Hun Sen and the Cambodian People Party (CPP) like Ambassador Rodley did in the Cambodian Olympic Stadium this year, US may also soon help rescue the whole of Cambodia from the occupation of the 100,000 disguised Communist Vietnamese Army + their advisers + 4 to 5 millions illegal Vietnamese immigrants who have not left Cambodia according to the 23rd October 1991 Paris Peace Accord yet!!!
In the East we have been colonized by Hanoi, whereas in the West we have the threat from the Thai government and her powerful Armed Forces everyday since July 2008.
President Obama, may I urge you to put pressure on Mr. Hun Sen and his Royal Cambodian government to immediately accept 10,000 of American Armed Forces plus 10,000 United Nations Armed forces to the Khmer-Thai and to Khmer-Vietnamese border to:
1- Prevent the Royal Thai Armed forces from burning Khmer civilians alive again.
2- Prevent the Royal Thai Armed forces from invading Cambodia and killing all the former Khmer Rouge soldiers and their teenage sons on Hanoi and Mr. Hun Sen’s governments’ behalf.
3- Prevent Mr. Hun Sen government from signing any new contracts with his master Hanoi in bringing 100,000 or more Bodoi troops to fight with the Royal Thai Armed forces from Inside Khmer territory. Although, previously there were 100,000 of NVA + 4 to 5 millions of illegal Vietnamese immigrants inside Cambodia already, but the 25 years troop intervention (invasion) contract between Hanoi government and the Royal Cambodian Government in the past have finished many years ago.
May the Almighty God bless America and little innocent Cambodia.
May the Almighty God rescue Cambodia from Vietnam swallowing and from the Royal Thai Armed forces invasion.

Study the history of the U.S.! U.S. don't get involves unless it harms their national interest or unless it's too obvious i.e. world condemnations and since U.S. is the world learder therefore it cannot ignore! otherwise, the U.S. is preoccupy with other priorities such as Iran, Israel, Hamas, Chavez, Russia, Balkans, Georgia, etc.... the most you can get out of it is protest from the state dept or senators etc...etc.... to no avail or to no help to our cause! please stop cut and paste and post and re post as after so many times it no longer has any meaning!

Hun Sen cannot read the documents, but he was told by his Vietnamese advisors that those documents were about Thailand will stage a coup d'Etat to remove him. The documents were fabricated by the Vietnamese in order for them to officially send their troops into Cambodia while they are secretely already in Cambodia. It is called Vietnam's expansionism through its military and its million people who are living in Cambodia.
Vietnamese used the same strategy as they did in French colony in Khmer Rouge regime and now again.
1- In French colony, The Vietnamese were already among Khmers following the history of Viet-Thai joined controlled Cambodia. The Vietnamese were able to cause troubles between Khmers and French, then the French hated Khmers and elevated the Vietnamese to be administrator administrated Cambodia and Laos.
2- The Vietanmese were with Pol Pot regime, were able to cause Pol Pot to become paranoid and lure Pol Pot to invade Vietnam and many people Pol Pot killed were Khmer Krom, then Vietnamese used that action as a pretext to invade Cambodia saying they came to save.
3-The Vietnamese installed Khmer peasants to power and promised them with high positions and wealth. In facts the Vietnamese have been always existed in Cambodia among Khmers. President Reagan ordered the Vietnamese to withdraw, so they did but they secretely came back. Now they officially returned via the troubles the Vietnamese fabricated in the case of Preah Vihear and saying they came to protect Khmers from Thai aggression.
Hun Sen has no such intelligence to do anything but a mouthpiece of Hanoi.
If I were Abhisit with all suports from the west and the US, I would attack Cambodia but first I'd aim at Hun Sen's palace. Abhiist is not a legitimate leader, so what? He has to stop Hanoi's expansionism by attacking Cambodia and blocking Thaksin from returning to power.
Thaksin can be Khmer Prime Minsiter if he should choose. I am sure China will be happy to help Thaksin and Cambodia from Vietnam's expansionism.

Thailand will uses all long range cannons to strike from Sisaket, Sa Kaeo, Chathaburi and Trat to kill all Hun Sen' SA-2, SA-3, SA-9, FN6 SAM sites and isolated all the army along the border, then use all low fly attacks Choppers and M1A1 and M1A2 tanks to advance the ground forces. how about that?
