Cambodian law applies to the weak and the poor only. The rich and the power are above the law.
where is ah meas thes duc to explain this law ? do you have anthing to rebutt ?
Cambodia is not the only country whose dictators use law to persecute the weak, it is almsot everywhere on the planet. In Russia I was there, the innocent victims were robbed and shot in the middle of Moscow. The victim family memebrs went to the police for helps, but all they got death threat. Only the US and develop cuntries are still good.
In France, if anyone criticizes Sarkozy, that person will be losing the job or he must run to hide somewhere.
It is said that money is the number one power, secondly sex, then thirdly the party (political and social). No one respects the law to the fullest extent. The majority of people in America respect most of the laws, but the majority of people in Cambodia break most of the laws. It has been like that in Cambodia for centuries.
No one should be above the laws, but those who have the money, power and party (pakk puok) always win.
It is sad to say that most Cambodian leaders break the laws, rules and regulations, and ethical conducts. The abuses of power happen everywhere including in all political organizations.
Powerful people can break all the laws, the less powerful ones break smaller laws and the little people break little laws like beating up their wife and children, etc… --A vicious cycle indeed.
Members of the CPP have been in power for several decades and they have abused and bent the laws to fit their political and personal agenda. Lawmakers who make the laws seem to make it for someone else to respect and not for themselves.
It is enough! Those who are in power now need to begin first.
It’s a wishful thinking, but it needs to be done.
Khmers rouges used the words KHMAIN and ANGKAR to kill Khmers.
CPP uses word LAW to jail Khmers.
