Dear Ms. Ambassador:

I live in Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Minneosta. I notice here many Chineses from China attending the University. I know the Chinese students go back to China with their education and help build China to a successful country today. My question to you is how to sponser Camboidians to study in the United States. I know there are some, but I feel the number of students is very few. Could the United States makes some exceptional effort to allow many Cambodian students qualify to attend the University?

Thanks

Dear 11:10PM,
One of the problems of having Cambodian students come to study in the US is that too many of them will find a way in the law loopholes to stay in the US intead of returning to work in Cambodia. Hence, the issues of bringing solid advance education to Cambodian students is to ask if it is possible for the US to establish or expand American University based on US Standard in Cambodia. These way, it costs less and a lot of Cambodian students will have the opportunity to study in the US without having to set foot in the US.

DEAR MADAM AMBASSADOR,

CAMBODIA IS MOVING AWAY FROM DEMOCRACY, FROM ITS INTERNATIONAL OBLIGATIONS SIGNED UNDER PARIS PEACE ACCORD 1991. THE JUDICIARY SYSTEM IS NOT INDEPENDENT AS IT SHOULD BE. CAMBODIA HAS BECOME A NATION RULED BY TYRANT, CAMOUFLAGED WITH A FAKE “DEMOCRACY,” WHILE IN REALITY IT LACKS ALL THE CENTRAL COMPONENTS TO BE CALLED OR RECOGNIZED AS SUCH:

*HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION
--RESTRICTIONS ON FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION; SPEECH, PRESS, MEDIA, ETC.. AND CAMBODIA’S FUNDAMENTALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.

*ILLEGAL EVICTIONS
--IN THE LAST DECADE MORE THAN 250,000 VICTIMS ARE SUFFERS AND DESTITUTE.

AMBASSADOR RODLEY, THIS TYPE OF ACTIONS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM SURE YOU ARE AWARE OF THE CURRENT ISSUES DURING YOUR STAY IN CAMBODIA. UNITED STATES IS FREEDOM LOVING COUNTRY. AS ITS REPRESENTATIVE, WHAT IS YOUR PLAN TO RESOLVE OR SLOW DOWN THE CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT UNCONSTITUTIONAL CHARACTORS? ALSO, TO PRESSURE A “TYRANT”, CAMBODIA GOVERNMENT TO OPEN ITS ARM AND EXTENDING ITS HAND TO WORK WITH ALL GROUPS IN THE COUNTRY FOR THE BETTERMENT OF CAMBODIA.

FROM: PHILADELPHIA, PA

I would not be able to attend the meeting on the 19. My question is " are there anyway cambodia student are given at least a 6 month F-1 visa instead of 3 month, it's really very inconvinent to always have to re-apply every holiday trip, even if it's for 2 weeks. To respond to the problem above my, about student finding loops hole to stay in america, I would say this is one of the reason why they do that to. Well what i suggest is, students that want to apply for F-1 visa should sign an agreement, not to get married, until they finish their education.
Having american based school in cambodia, would not really solve the problem, as you know there are a few foreign school already in cambodia, but does it make a diffrence? The problem lies witht he ministy of education, what have they done really to try to improve education in cambodia? students are taught to pay their teacher (Bak Chak) since high school, and all the way through, so it's in-built inside the child's head that corruption is normal, and thats how cambodia is.

Do not forget to mention this issue to her when anyone go to see her on this Saturday:

This is how Hun Sen regime
IF anyone stand up for Khmers, he or she get arrested, but if anyone sell Cambodian Land to Youn or learn to shut-up, he or she got promoted.

Shall we elect this regime again in 2013?

Red-Ant, Thanks.

Dear 12:46 AM,

Here is some of the huge benefits by allowing Cambodian students to study in the US:

1. Student diversity from all different backgrounds and nationalities

2. Share different cultures with other students

3. Recruit best students from Cambodia and no burden financial costs to their families

4. Learn the high educational and practical standards and apply them to excel Cambodia in the future

Ofcourse there would be some loophole in the system, but young bright Cambodian students have nothing to loose.

Hi,

I agreed and support 1:27 AM's suggestion. Most of the comments are great and can be done. We have to look and seek a common ground for the best interest for our people and future for our children; especailly, in the areas of education. We should advocate for fair access to education for all.

Dear Ambassador Carol Rodley

The hottest topic right now in Cambodia is the Cambodian border issues between Thailand and Vietnam. I would like your opinion on that.

And my next question is now that President Obama removed Cambodia from trade blacklist and a Marxist-Leninist country "which still must go through formalities". My question is what is the Cambodian trade status with United States now?

Thank you.

DEAR MADAM AMBASSADOR,
American policies toward Cambodia had been good till 9/11 regarding direct aid to Cambodian government. Why American government changed the policy?
1/ Because of the expansion of china in Asia?
2/ Because of the terrorist that Hun Sen claimid he will cooperate w/US?
US government already know that Cambodian government is so corrupt and still continued to provide directly aid to them.

Dear, Ambassador Carol Rodley
Cambodia and its peoples are relied on Sam Rainsy Party to represent their speech to the goverment of Cambodia as well as to the out side world. Removing Sam Rainsy immunity is removing democracy, free dom of speech and putting all Khmers peoples into the dark side. I do not know how much power does American ambassador has, but could you please intervene to install Mr. Sam Rainsy immunity back and help protecting Sam Rainsy...?

Regards,
Khmer

Your excellency Carol A. Rodley
United States Ambassador to Cambodia.

Dear Ambassador Rodley,

Mr. Hun Sen says there are 100,000 North Vietnamese Communist arm forces still occupied Cambodia everyday and they stay on top of his head.

Eyes witness said there are 4 to 5 million illegal Vietnamese communists also occupied Cambodia to give illegal vote to Mr. Hun Sen and his CPP illegitimate government.

My questions to US Ambassador are:

***** Can the United States of America rescue Cambodia from Vietnamese communist government through their puppet Mr. Hun Sen/CPP government swallowing Cambodia now??? Your past policy in helping Cambodia on Human Right, Democracy, Health and education were so great, but they will not stop Vietnamese government from swallowing Khmer country in the near future. Cambodia always wanted to be USA ally in her own independent right, not through the satellite of Hanoi government.

***** Can the United States of America stay in Cambodia for ever by not desert Cambodia and left innocent Khmer as the most trust US ally to be slaughtered by Vietcong/NVA/Khmer Rouge soldiers (prince Sirimatak Sisowath last letter in March 1975 to then US Ambassador John Dean) like the USA did on the 12th of April 1975???

***** Can the United States of America rescue Cambodia from the dictator Mr. Hun Sen the same way as America did rescue Iraqi people from the dictator Mr. Saddam Hussein???

***** Can the United States of America do it now either by law or by force, before the Hanoi government swallowing Khmer people and Khmer land through it puppet Mr. Hun Sen/CPP government completely soon.

Ambassador Rodley, by helping all Khmer inside Cambodia to stand up strong and tall against the dictatorship and corruption of Mr. Hun Sen and the Cambodian People Party (CPP) like you did in the Cambodian Olympic Stadium this year, you may also soon help rescue the whole of Cambodia from the occupation of the 100,000 disguised Communist Vietnamese Army + their advisers + 4 to 5 millions illegal Vietnamese immigrants who have not left Cambodia according to the 23rd October 1991 Paris Peace Accord yet!!!

In the East we have got colonized by Hanoi, whereas in the West we have the threat from the Thai government and her powerful arm forces everyday since July 2008.

Ambassador Rodley, may I urge you to request the US president Mr. Barracks Obama to put pressure on Mr. Hun Sen and his Royal Cambodian government to immediately send 10,000 of American arm forces plus 10, 000 United Nations Arm forces to the Khmer-Thai and to Khmer-Vietnamese border to:

1- prevent the Royal Thai Arm forces from burning Khmer civilians alive again.

2- prevent the Royal Thai Arm forces from invading Cambodia and killing all the former Khmer Rouge soldiers and their teenage sons on Hanoi and Mr. Hun Sen government behalf.

3- prevent Mr. Hun Sen government from signing any new contracts with his master Hanoi in bringing 100,000 or more Bodoi troops to fight with the Royal Thai Arm forces from Inside Khmer territory. Although, previously there were 100,000 of NVA + 4 to 5 millions of illegal Vietnamese immigrant inside Cambodia already, but the 25 years troop intervention (invasion) contract between Hanoi government and the Royal Cambodian Government in the past have finished many years ago.

.

May almighty God Jesus Christ bless America and little innocent Cambodia.

May almighty God Jesus Christ rescue Cambodia from Vietnam swallowing and from the Royal Thai Arm forces invasion.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all good human being.

Dear 12:46,
I think poster 11:10 question is for Emabssador Rodley?
But, I will make a brief insertions to your answer.
So, you're implying is that the Chinese (student) get a special treatment, but not Cambodian student? Are Chinese student always make good of their promise to return home upon completion of their education. From your response, you make it sound like ONLY Cambodian students are here to stay.
This is NOT the US policy. If it is, it's illegal. It's racist and it's bias. The United States is about equality, not quantity.
The truth lies between the Cambodia PM and the US President. They never did see eye to eye. No offense to the Cambodian PM.

Dear Ambassador Rodley,

Recently Cambodia expelled 22 Uighur asylum seekers back to China regardless of international law on refugees even though Cambodia knows that the Chinese government will execute these people when they return.

My question is what is The United States government going to do about it to Cambodia?

My suggestion is The US should cut tie with Cambodia because, under Hun Sen CPP government, today's Cambodia don't respect the international law, don't respect human right, don't care about life in general.

I hope to hear the answer from you.

Thank you,

Vanna of WA state

To: US Ambassador and Government.

Subject: Creation of Independent Broadcasting Media in Cambodia

Dear Ms Rodley,

First of all, thank you for making yourself accessible to ordinary Khmers whose native country falls within your present remit as US Ambassador.

The US has stated its long-term commitment and intentions towards Cambodia with the establishment of the new embassy compound in Phnom Penh. Historically, the US and Cambodia have shared much pain and hardship, particularly, in the second Indochina conflict, and rightly or wrongly, a legacy of that turmoil has remained, and continues to shape both nations emotionally and politically.

On behalf of the Khmer people, I would like to urge your government to strongly consider the possibility of establishing or funding an independent national television broadcasting network in Cambodia to complement existing US funded radio programme channel or news report facilities there. As you will concur, impartial and independent broadcasting media has a critical role to perform in the overall check and balance process and, especially so, in a country where the State exercises near or complete monopoly over this mass media format.

Although, many poor Cambodians, particularly, those in rural areas, do not own a TV set, let alone a computer or internet access, television remains the most popular and therefore effective tool for relaying a variety of news features to the public, including cultural/ entertainment programmes as well as coverage of national and international events.

With the emergence of an independent broadcasting media, civil society will be given a new lease of life, a vibrant and open climate for responsible and liberal expression, an exercise of one’s viewpoint or right to self-expression within the remit of constitutional provisions, could become a lived reality, and not just constitutional lip-service swept under the carpet of State inertia and manipulation.

In most liberal democracies, the existence of an independent media is accompanied by that of an independent monitoring/ complaints body or commission, whose function is to ensure equal and fair representation in transmitted information so that consumers themselves are given a choice in evaluating the information presented to them, coming from a range of sources, and additionally, are at liberty to register any complaint to the commission over the quality of news broadcast, rather than being passive recipients of such material.

In some way, the notion of independent broadcasting media is a novelty to Cambodia - one notes that whole generations of Khmers have grown up under this static and monopolised media climate - but this should not be a pretext for denying the country its due place in the world.

Thank you.

MP

PS. A Merry Christmas to all KI Media readers, whatever your views or persuasions.

Also my thanks to the KI Media team for all their hard work, without whose pioneering labour, a nation would be much the poorer.

Dear MADAM AMBASSADOR,

Does United State government recognize Cambodian map? If United States State does recognize Cambodian map and what kind of map that would be? Is it the French map before Cambodia got her independent from France or Is it the US military map or Is it the Cambodian map after Cambodia got her independent from France?

Thank you in advance for your time.

i think it is the right thing for the world to assist cambodia so she can become better. thanks to the stupid KR genocide policy, it was turning cambodia into a child again. and as a child, we all been there and done that, a child needs lots of loving tender care in order to shape it into a productive, educated adult. so, if the world abandons this "child" then it may or may not turn into something one important in the future as it must atained good education and more in order to become a professional. that is cambodia, we all can help it or we all can destroy it. i think we must choose wisely. thank you and god bless cambodia and the USA.

i, too, would like to educate and remind cambodia and its ordinary citizens, etc to learn and get to know america, the land of the great opportunity, you name it. i think cambodian people should embrace america because this way america will show interest and will to protect and provide for cambodia so no country in the world will harm or steal or invade cambodia. i love and know america from studying and having lived in america. america is a great country, and i think it is wise for cambodian people in cambodia to embrace america as permanent friends, etc... i think khmer people should be given insight into the america system and learn from america the principles of true freedom and the rule of law and the land of god and so forth. america can exert its economic influence on cambodia so khmer people can gain knowledge and understand that america is there to help and to provide in terms of safety, education, preservation of environment, ecosystem and so forth. america can and should lead the way for cambodia to see and the good benefit with being friended with america. ambassies of both our countries can helt to improve this liason so both our people can learn from each other, and thus hopefully one day, soon, cambodia can become a product society of the world and will help to contribute to the world as a partner and ally of america, the beautiful. yes, together and with strong determination, we all can help to make a lasting difference in cambodia and the world at large. may god bless cambodia and the USA. khmer/american friendship forever.

Thank you for authorising me to ask some questions to the Ambassador for Cambodia. She is from the democracy country of the world, why did she close her eyes within the bastard Hun Sen regime on abusing and violating the rights of Cambodian ? did she compromise with the bastard Hun Sen in any bribe?

Ask this question for most of Cambodian, please.

6;11pm.
She is a democrat of America, and Democrat party was new word that used to replace Communist party.
If you want to know why the word Communist Party was not allowed to use in the US check out the supreme ruler of Japan named General Douglas McCathur.

The US keeps borrowing money from China and the US want to expand their space in SEA, and China wants the same. In order for them to keep have ASEAN to be their sides, each one of them may need a small but a strong country who can play their games. And Vietnamese are the only strong who have more advance than the rest in ASEAN.

Right now both China and US use Hanoi to do the dirty job for them, and they have to close their eyes, and what we want is not under their interest.

The US agreed to replace France in Indochina, and the US were the one who agreed to let France to sign Kampuchea Krom to Vietnam for their own military base.

Anonymous said...

The history repeats itself, and the White men were to conquer the world then took other land and gave to others the same as in the past, while the Asian men took other lands for themselves than later lose forever.

About the land of Kampuchea Krom that lost to Yuon in 1949 signed by the French, why the people who carried Yuon's propagandas telling lies that King Sihanouk did it?

The French must have sold Kampuchea Krom land to the US for the US based military like the French sold some southern States in the US who speak French for money to American. The White men gave Malaysian land to Chinese called Singapore, the White men gave Indian land to the Muslims called Pakistan, the White men gave Khmer land to Yuon, and the White men gave Palestine to Jews, and more.

The Asian men only are interested in robbing and killing each others that's why Japanese lost forever to the White men.

The Khmer people who work for Yuon's propagandas can only destroy Khmers into abyss, because we only hate and kill each others for Yuon.
