The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) strongly condemns the inhumane refoulement to China by the Cambodian government of the 20 ethnic Uighurs who fled to Cambodia earlier this month, in fear of imprisonment and possible death sentence over the violent riots last summer in Xinjiang region. The SRP strongly believes that the Cambodian government was fully aware of such reality but it has chosen to give a loud and clear signal to the world community that it has chosen to disregard its obligation to the 1951 Convention relating to Refugees.
The fate of the ethnic Uighurs as well as other asylum seekers who are inhumanely repatriated to their country of origin, must not be forgotten by the world community. Close monitoring of their treatment by the international community and the UN must continue and reported to the UN General Secretary for their safety and security and for the protection and their human rights.

How and why this group of 20 ethnic Uighurs has chosen to come to Cambodia? How they didn't stay in Thailand or Myanma instead or Malaysia or Indonesia, since this two last countries are of Islam religion. Somebody can explain that?
They would if they could.
They come from China, through Vietnam and Camboida.
Why didn't they stay in Vietnam? This country is more powerful than Cambodia and maybe she can resist the pressure from China.
A large number of Khmer people believe Hun Sen acted in the best interest of the nation with regard to the ethnic Uighurs.
Why can't the opposition see what the majority of the people see? Why can't the opposition focuss on more important issues which attract more pubic support? I guess this is one of the reasons why the opposition is still trailing behind CPP.

No the cambodian people have nothing to do with the return of the Uighurs, they can never bark even when they have nothing to eat.
The uighurs are chineses and the return of them is the chinese decision.
These people are in need of help just like us in khmer rough killing era, now how could a jungle man like Hun Xen not understand their fate. Because of Hun Xen is not a human he is evils, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this. coa
