Thailand rejects Cambodian allegation of coup plot

BANGKOK — Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Friday rejected an accusation from his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen that Thailand is hatching a plot to stage a coup in the neighbouring nation.

The Cambodian premier made the allegation on Thursday as diplomatic relations between the governments sunk to a new low.

Hun Sen said he had seen a secret Thai government document outlining the plan to mount a coup, but Suthep, who is in charge of national security, said the charge was groundless.

"We have no reason to do such a thing. My government has a clear policy to maintain good relations and we don't need to resort to violence or disrupt bilateral trade," Abhisit told reporters.

"Thailand would not interfere in Cambodia's internal affairs and Thailand never criticises domestic Cambodian politics," he said.

Relations between the countries, which have fought a string of deadly gunbattles on their border since last year, plunged last month when fugitive former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra became an economic adviser to Cambodia.

Both recalled their ambassadors in November and diplomatic tensions were further raised when Phnom Penh refused to extradite Thaksin during his first visit as adviser last month.

Thaksin, who was ousted in a coup in 2006, is living abroad, mostly in Dubai, to avoid a two-year jail term for corruption handed down by a Thai court in August 2008.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva:
Don't denied please!

Hun Sen who first as Khmer Rouge commander in east region, and then as Foreign Minister, and Prime Minister holding with absolute power for 30 years in this tiny kingdom which shares over one half
of its national boundaries with Yuon vietcong.

During the World War II, and the Japanese occupation from 1940 to 1945, the year of Japanese defeat. This was followed by the reconquest of Indochina by the allies forces, bringing with the triumphal return of the French to that region.

During the year of 1940 Thailand controled the entire province of Battabang and part of the province of Siem Reap. The Thai occupation in these provinces lasted from 1941to 1945.

From 1945 to 1954, Cambodia had to face two great problems.

• The first was the political struggle with French for complete independence.

• The second proplem was the danger from the expansion of the Vietnamese forces known by the same of Viet Minh, who carried out guerrilla operations against the Frence presence in Indochina.

The Viet Minh troops in Cambodia continued to expand gradually as the political and military situation of the regime in power deteriorated.
The Viet Minh forces established themselves more and more deeply in Cambodia. Their method was to move into certain frontier regions to facilitate taking over particular areas in the interior of Cambodia just before the singing of the Geneva agreements in 1954.

On January 7, 1979 North Vietnam reconquer and occupation until 1989and the singing of the Paris peace agreements in october 23, 1991.

If all of these happened once, it will happen again.

We khmer encourage Thailand to liberate Cambodia from Vietnam occupation and repression and have regime change...

Thailand can uses SEATO to liberate Cambodia and set up a new government just like North Vietnam did in 1979 for Hun Sen regime.

I'd rather live with Thai better than under Yuon and Yuon slaves.

I agree with the above writer's idea of a regime change in Cambodia. As long as Hun Sen is in power, Thailand and Cambodia will never have a good and homonymous relation. Cambodians would rather live with Thai than with the Viet.

I want to topple Hun Sen's corrupted band of thugs, but on our own under the leadership of SRP. I want a bloodless coupe, too many Khmer people have been killed already and the suffering of it's people have reached it's boiling point! SRP will require military forces and maybe we can ask the United States/France to ship over some forces. I definitely do not welcome the Thais at all, they need to stay away from our contry! The rebirth of our great nation, shall fall into the hands of Cambodian patriots. I want Mr. Sam Rainsy to be Prime minister and lead Cambodia and it's people to becoming an industrialized nation, that can afford it's citizens free healthcare, school, and job opprtunities! Expel the viet and it's puppets out of the country for once and for all!

Thailand should stage a coup against Cambodian govt since it's involving with Thai political issues. Khmer should live under Thai occupation rather than Hun Sen' s dictatorship. The CPP can't even solve its own problems and why they still involve with other country. It is not professional for Hun Sen to involve with Thai. Take care your own ass, don't you. The Cambodian govt is fucking up from the influence of Vietnam.

remove hun sen,

he is running out of options,

he is doing everything he could to divert Hanoi's plot to remove in Cambodia

Youn is replacing someone on hun sen and it means he is done, i really mean he is done(cut his head off and hang out for the whole country to see)

Youn then takes over Cambodia for good.

I am running out of patience with hun sen, and so as Youns,

Anupong PaoChinda is also got involved with the plans"COUP", Thailand has never admited their wrong doing anyway....don't forget, when Thai army looted angkor and Lung Vek, they beheaded Khmer people and used Khmer's blood to wash their feets...Khmer will remembered that, if you Thai people dare to invade us again, we will wipe you out of the Map for good...

In the meantime, Hun Sen seemed to have serious doubts about the viablity of Cambodia and his regime change. After the rupture of relations with Thailand, Hun Sen encountred without end of problems.
In spite of the many problems encountered, Hun Sen asked King Norodom Sihamoni to step with the increase in strength in the three services of arms forces, there appeared the practice of rapid promotion of five golden star officiers and noncommissioned
officers to the point of provoking more and more profound feelings of scare within the government members.
Time is up, Hun Sen must go, and new government must take over soon.

Marry Xmast and Happy new year!

To all Khmer compatriots, ladies and gentlemen,

Dear Khmer Kandal and Khmer Krom fighters,

Mr. Sam Rainsy and his party non-violence policy towards Hun Sen/CPP will not and never be able to work and Vietnam does not want to understand what is democracy, what is human rights and what is oppressed, colonized, occupied Cambodia who once upon a time fed, sheltered and supported the Crocodile Vietnam to win over United States Arm forces in Vietnam War.

On 16th December, 2009 Mr. Hun Sen said in Cambodian public that Mr. Sam Rainsy will not be tolerated again this time, he must come into Cambodia and go to Prey Sar prison (sic), or he should ask Thai government to let him form a Khmer Exile Government at the Khmer-Thai territory along the Western border.

What Mr. Sam Rainsy ought to do is neither go to Prey Sar prison nor go to Vietnamese court in Hanoi. If, I were Mr. Sam Rainsy I would negotiate with Mr. Abbhisit Vejjajiva the Thai prime minister to follow Mr. Hun Sen’s suggestion of forming a Khmer Exile Government at the Thai-Cambodia border. I can assure you there will be 100 of thousands Khmers inside Cambodia will come to join the new Khmer Exile Government like in 1979’s.

Khmer King Norodom Sihamoni appointed Thaksin Shinawatra as Hun Sen’s adviser. Therefore, Mr. Sam Rainsy can form a Khmer Exile Government along Khmer-Thai border too. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WHICH CAN bring Vietnam and their slave Mr. Hun Sen/CPP to respect the 23rd October, 1991 Paris Peace Agreement by convening another international conference on Cambodia.

So sick of this bullshit about Cambodia. People start to open their mouths without thinking or evidence toward it. Unification is the key to solve problem for Khmer. Khmer Empire becomes a small country, who is the person to blame? Hun Sen? Mr Sam Rainsy is the hero? Khmer Destroy Khmer. It is sad that people don't use their brain at all. Cambodia become like this today because every Khmer take part to make Cambodia like this.
