Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- China Huadian Corp., one of the nation’s five biggest electricity producers, plans to build a $558 million hydropower plant in Cambodia in the company’s largest push to expand its overseas hydropower operations.
Construction of the 338-megawatt plant is scheduled to start next year, China Huadian said in a statement posted on the China Electricity Council’s Web site today. The company signed a financing agreement with the Export-Import Bank of China on Jan. 8, China Huadian said.
The hydropower plant, to be the largest in Cambodia, will be located 180 kilometers (112 miles) west of the capital Phnom Penh, the company said.

Hydroelectrics are very bad to all Khmer people due to flooding, mass evictions, damage aqualife, damage and destroy forest and farmerland. It take very big of piece to build reservoir to store overflow water. We must to use solar and wind to make electricity not hydroelectric.

$558 million hydropower plant in Cambodia ... the spending's partition are: $50 million goes to the project, due to the cheap labors. $8 millons go to hunsen's party. $350 millions go to arm trafic to hunsen's army and finally, $150 millions directly to hunsen bank suitzerland's account.
The good come with the bad and dirt poor Cambodian people deserve affordable electricity to power street light, eletric train, electric vehicle...and without high power electricity and light, medium, and heavy industries can not exist in Cambodia and Cambodia will be the last Stone Age nation in South East Asia.

I agree with 7:50. The US fucked Cambodia real bad in the 1970's. We had carpet bombing all over Cambodia that made the Khmer Rouge stronger. Besides fucking Cambodia badly the US wants us to pay for Lon Nol's barrowing to fight the communists during the war years of 1970's. This is plain rape and robery by the USA.

Hydro dam project could a way to cut timber in the area. There many ways of money laundering. Through that Khmer officials earn cash for their pockets.
