THE brutal rule of the Khmer Rouge is being remembered at the London Jewish Cultural Centre this week. An exhibition of photographs from Cambodia portraying life under Pol Pot’s tyranny is one of a number of events the centre is hosting to raise international awareness of genocide to honour National Holocaust Memorial Day.

“Cambodia: Reflections of the Khmer Rouge” exposes graphic evidence of Pol Pot’s regime when approximately two million people were killed. Written testimony from survivors is displayed next to photographs of victims and perpetrators.

Ilana Winterstein has co-curated the exhibition. “We chose the LJCC as a venue because we wanted to link the exhibition to Holocaust Memorial Day,” she said. “At this time of remembrance it is important that we also remember the victims of other man-made atrocities in order that the diktat ‘Never again’ may one day become a reality.”

The exhibition is at Ivy House, 94-96 North End Road, Golders Green, NW11, until February 17. Mondays and Wednesdays 10am-4pm, Thursdays 3-6pm. Free admission. 020 8457 5000

If Vietnameses did not come in Cambodia from 1965 to 1970, this will never happened.
The truth is Vietnameses came in Cambodia, created killing machine, quit and came in after in 1979.
Vietnameses had manipulated Khmers and continue to do it again and again..

Corpes of Pol Pot had gone half a century ago 1/3 of our populations wiped out. Nowadays, we're dealing with another Corporation of Phnom Penh.

I remember reading of a Jewish man in Washington D.C who fought on the behalf of the the Khmer people during that period. He knew what was happening in Cambodia replicated to what has happen to his Jewish people during Hitler madness.

Bless be the Holy One Of Israel!

I know at least one Jewish foundation working to help to bring better life for the Cambodian people. I can't remember the name of the foundation.
I know to began with they built a mosque for the Cham but they will not do anything like that from there on. Their purpose is to build schools and so on...

" Cheam Anatha or Drifting blood ", the true story of Chea Yuthon and Som Vansodany's infant son who survives the pol pot regime should never be forgotten. All of us and the world should know and remember his story. His sadness and misery was made by men and those men are from the Communist Regime.
