Just been on my three monthly border run to Cambodia and am fucked off with these robbing bastards, i drive my car there and twice get pulled over by the brown uniform brigade, the first time he said i was speeding which was bullshit, i was doing a steady 100kmh, anyway i reluctantly agreed to supliment his paycheck to the tune of 200b, the second time, again 200b, he said i should have been in the inside lane even though i was overtaking a truck doing 40kmp, absolute bullshit! anyway i get to the border, and we all know a cambodian visa should be 20usd or at todays rate about 670b, but no, i have to again suppliment a corrupt fucker and give him 1000b, and a further200b to leave, because "you not stay cambodia" utter fucking bullshit again, what is or can be done about this daylight robbery? they are all taking the piss, can you imagine the outcry if america, the uk ect started targeting Thais and Cambodians as easy targets for extortion!

I thought you could only get a 15 day visa by land from cambodia? i made a couple of runs in my POV to the border and the same thing the shake down ,200bht here 200bht there.
Finally,I started using visa co. and that was the ticket no hassles and slept on the way.
Loa, was the best place to go and let a visa man do the waiting ,he bought back my passport to my hotel room! And all for 500bht plus visa cost.
Its big business!The visa vans,hotels,resturants,the police,imagration,the stores that sell ink pens....
Dr K. they would have fit here (usa)if they had go thru that.They get a six month tourist visa for a few bucks! Double standards but thats the price you pay to live in the LOS!!!

Laos and Cambodia have been scamming tourists for years on the US rate. You can bet if the dollar rose again you would pay the exact equivalent!!! If you leave cambodia by land there is NO departure tax no 100 baht no health declaration-thats a joke!!! fee 20 baht nothing dont give those 10th world backward crooks anymore than necessary.Cambodia is run by the lowest scum on earth.I hate the place. Could be wonderful there if it were run by humans.

Corruption is not avoidable in Cambodia. I am not suprise by some negative comments in his writing. But he also sound like a chronic complainer. Not one word he says is good or he does not know how to adjust to new environment. If it too painful experience he should never come back to Cambodia. He is too uptight and need to cheer up. And yes Thailand has a lot corruption too. Take negative and turn to positve. Clean up corruption.

This is how the Thais view Cambodians. The last commenter said "Cambodia is run by the lowest scum on earth.I hate the place. Could be wonderful there if it were run by humans."
The Thais don't think of Cambodians as human beings, but animals or "the lowest scum on earth".
This kind of mentality have been bred and taught at Thai schools across the country. That's why many Thais look down on Cambodians as being animals undeserving of living on this earth. Thai soldiers have killed many Cambodian loggers every week like they killed chickens or animals.
Thailand is a bit better than Cambodia, but not much. The Thais are not any smarter than Cambodians, so I say to this ignorant Thai commenter to have a bit of human decency and respect for another human being, please.
The comments are not from the thais but from the expatriates white people running from the three months visa in Thailand. They have to get out of Thailand and reapply for a three month visa again.The speeding tickets are in thailand before getting to the border for the cambodian visa. So the thais too have made some money on this poor guys.

Thai bastards are much vicious than Khmers. I had experienced Thai bastards' robberies and cruelty when I was in Khao I Dang refugees camp. Thai soldiers treated Khmer refugees in the same way the KR did. In my book I wrote "We escape tigers but encouter crocodiles." Thai robbers are everywhere along the border, waiting to rob Khmers.

You are too quick to make your (rather pathetic) comments. Read the 3 stories again.
They are written by non-Thai citizens living in Thailand who need to go on a visa run to Laos or Cambodia (or Malaysia) to renew their visa for staying in Thailand. And their stories gives clues like "aussiebkk" and "can you imagine the outcry if america or UK" that the writers are either American, British or Australian.
The writers are not Thai. And the writers are talking about systematic corruption by police and border officials in Thailand, Cambodia & Laos.
Your comments are totally misplaced and display an unfortunate characteristic of many Cambodians: not very good at listening skills, too quick to make assumptions, and a reaction that is out of proportion.

The second times, I went back, the same guy and airport cop or something held my passport...., and I called my brother who is a two stars Gen. in Phnom Penh, and he kicked the grab out of those two guys, and I said to them you deserve it....and left.

A couple things , I disagree. Driving at 100kmh or even 40 kmh and expect to not being stop?, but they didn't say the speed limit that it was supposed to be. If the SPL were actually in a 70kmh or 25khm zones then fine those death wishes bastards. Who did they think they are?

LOOK at 10:08 and 10:16 - they both explain that the writers are not Thai. And 10:16 suggests that (mot of your) "comments are totally misplaced and display an unfortunate characteristic of many Cambodians: not very good at listening skills, too quick to make assumptions, and a reaction that is out of proportion".
And then after their comments most of you show that you've either not understood or simply ignored the fact that you've totally misunderstood that the writers are not Thai - and continue to make wrong assumptions and continue with childish and small-minded reactions.
English is probably not your mother tongue - which is precisely why you should consider slowing down your anger, and asking yourself if you've really understood what is being said. Give yourself a 10 minute break and then read it again slowly. You might find you understand things differently. And perhaps ask yourself truthfully whether you actually want to understand what the writer says or whether you just want to be angry with the Thais.
In fairness to you, it is not helped that the original writer titled his message "Khmer bastards". Based on what he writes it would have been better if he had titled it "Thai and Khmer bastards". Then you might not have been so confused.
