One of the reasons behind the killing during Pol Pot's regime was that there were two opposing lines of Khmer Rouge - those who worked for and protected the nation; and those who were brainwashed and introduced by Hanoi to destroy the nation.
Which group was PM Hun Sen part of? If he pretends to belong to the first group, then may I ask why he allows or tolerates the presence of millions of illegal yuon settlers in Cambodia since Jan 1979, and signed several land concession treaties with Hanoi without public consultation?
I hope that PM Hun Sen did belong to the first group, and that he will do everything possible to prove it. Otherwise, he will be seen by Khmer people that he was a true yuon agent; That would be very sad and unfortunate for his children, grand children and grand-grand children.

TODAY IS 7TH JANUARY 2010. 31 YEARS AGO, ON THIS DATE I WAS IN KAMPONG THOM, TRANSFERRED FROM KAMPONG CHAM. I SAW THE KHMER ROUGE FAMILY AND TROOPS RUNNING.
WITHOUT THIS LIBERATION, CAMBODIA WOULD REMAINED LIKE NORTH KOREA. NO WESTERN COUNTRIES WOULD COME AND SAVE US: WE DONT HAVE OIL OR ANY RESOURCES. THE DECADE THAT FOLLOWED WAS THE ATTEMPT TO REVIVE THE KHMER ROUGE ORGANIZATION. THAILAND PROVIDED ALOT OF CASH TO THE KHMER ROUGE (INCLUDING TO THE KHMER ROUGE DELEGATION AT THE UN) AND HELPED ORGANIZE THE KHMER ROUGE MOVEMENT AND GOVERNMENT. OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ALSO HELPED, BECAUSE IT WAS THE COLD WAR. MORAL WAS THE LAST VALUE FOR GOVERNMENTS, INCLUDING WESTERN. I BELIEVE THAT WESTERN COUNTRIES CARED MORE FOR THEIR OWN CITIZEN AND THEIR OWN INTERESTS, THAN THE SO-CALLED WESTERN VALUES.
THE MOST IMPORTANT WERE THE EFFORTS TO REBUILD CAMBODIA FROM SCRATCHES. CAMBODIA SUFFERED FROM TWO PHASES OF DESTRUCTION: THE KILLING OF EDUCATED PEOPLE DURING THE KHER ROUGE REGIME AND THE EXODUS OF EDUCATED PEOPLE TO THE WEST AFTER THE FALL OF THE KHMER ROUGE.
MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY WERE LUCKY TO SURVIVE THE KHMER ROUGE AND TO BE PART OF THOSE WHO REBUILT CAMBODIA. IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE WHO WENT ABROAD DID NOT CARE. IT WAS JUST HISTORY AND HARZARD. THEY CONTINUE TO LOVE CAMBODIA. THE ONE WHO LOVE THE MOST ARE THE ONE WHO COME BACK AND REBUILD THE COUNTRY. BUT JUST TALKING IS ALRIGHT THOUGH.
