THE Council of Ministers announced Wednesday that 100 border-demarcation poles would be planted along Cambodia’s shared border with Vietnam this year, as the Kingdom’s top border negotiator engaged in talks with officials in Hanoi.
Var Kimhong, senior minister in charge of border affairs, on Tuesday led a Cambodian delegation to Hanoi in advance of a meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers that began Wednesday.
The discussions come as opposition leader Sam Rainsy faces charges of racial incitement and destruction of public property at Svay Rieng provincial court in connection with an October protest during which he joined villagers in uprooting border poles. He is expected to be tried in absentia on January 27.
Government officials have defended the demarcation process, but Sam Rainsy Party spokesman Yim Sovann criticised it on Wednesday, saying the talks were not transparent and could lead to farmers along the border losing land to encroachments. “The people will suffer because of these border posts,” he warned.

The Vietnamese violated the International Laws, United Nations Resolution Paris Peace Agreements in 1991, Cambodian National Security, Secrecy and Privacy acts, the Khmer Laws of the 1900’s, the French Bonne Map of 1954 by encroaching and moving the border markers. The Cambodia-Vietnam border demarcation started in 2005 to be completed by 2008 but the Vietnamese has changed to 2012. The United Nations must inspect every new border markers according to the French Bonne Map of 1954 accurately and precisely with today technology. All the border markers the Vietnamese has been installed are not official without the United Nations, ASEAN, and International Community supervision, inspection and protect by the United Nations peacekeepers. Hun Sen kept silence on the Cambodia-Vietnam border demarcation and declares war on Cambodia-Thai border for Preah Vihear temple and surrounding area of 5 sq. km. While Cambodia (181,600 sq. km.) is still occupy and control by the Vietnamese government. Hun Sen will punish any Cambodian who anti-Vietnamese on the border issues and the Vietnamese living in Cambodia. It is a deadly consequence to all the Cambodian under the Vietnamese supervision and land-grabbed by forced evictions. The Vietnamese is using the Cambodian elites to kill the poor Cambodian same as the Khmer Rouge killing fields. This time is the Vietnamese systems smooth, unnoticed, and unknown to the World as we describes and we called the Vietnamese planned SILENCE HOLOCAUST.
All Khmer people including current Government please protect and save Khmer people and land for the next generation. Land cannot be growing and Cambodia cannot be move to a different location, we all needed to protect and save our self from the Vietnamese expansion. Stop blaming on each other it is not going to solve any problems. We need to be united and organized to save our motherland remember no more land for any country. Cambodia is the smallest and poorest country in Indochina we have to protect and save it for the next generation, but may be Hun Sen have no next generation of family dynasty this is why he is giving away his motherland and making Khmer people suffering, starvation, dying, jobless and homelessness from the forced evictions and land-grab.
Yim Sovann is a disgrace politician. He has been an MP for 15 years but can't understand the meaning of Cambodia's Constitution. Last month, in the Parliament, he said that according to Cambodia's Constitution, the government has to provide the house to all Cambodian people (sic). In fact, Cambodia's Constitution as well as Constitution of Western country, there is no any clause which is required that the government must provide the house to all population as a disgrace Yim Sovann said.
As for Mr. Son Chay aka Son Kork, he is keen to concern about Cambodia's border issue but what is so funny is, he doesn't know how many kilometre squares of Cambodia? According to Mr. Son Chay, he said that Cambodia has 180 036 Kilometre square (sic).

You should watch a disgrace Yim Sovann said in the Parliament last month first before you accused me that I have no clue!! At that time, one MP (CPP) has attacked him on what disgrace Yim Sovann has misled the Parliament that the Cambodia's Costitution stated that the government has to provide the house to all Cambodian people. MP from CPP posted the question to him that "Is any country in this world able to provide the house to all population?"

Well, there is no obligation for MP to handling out his/her own money in helping people but if people ask, MP should help them rather than run away and hide himself in Phnom Penh likes Son Chhay did.

All Khmer had been taught or only SRP and its supporters had been taught?
Since former King Sihanouk ran the country from 1953 until the time as we speak plus current Cambodia's Constitution always stated that Cambodia's land is 181 035 Kilometre squares.
If we talk about accusation, you should point the finger to yourself and other SRP's stupid supporters because you and your groups are good with it. For me, I don't like accuse or brand anyone without knowing the true. I am aware about Son Chhay more than you are thinking.
As for Mr. Keat Sokun, I don't really know about him but one thing I can say is, he has never taken any money from PM Hun Sen to spy other Funcinpec members like Son Chhay did in 1997.

Overall, these people have done much better than you. Yes, I admit I overlooked that figure Son Chhay quoted, but that is understandable as he was under so much pressure. Memory lapse can be fixed, it is not a blunder such as demarcating Khmer lands to the yuons. Son Chhay will have no problem correcting this error. But the big issue is Khmer losing lands to the lands daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. Have you heard Khmer people crying ? What have Hun Sen done to protect rather then booing Khmer to go to the coffins ? Arreasting them and jailing them ? Is that how an elected leader solve problem ? If your stay this long in Aust can't shed any light on you, nothing will; maybe your business dealings will.
On Son Chhay taking money from Hun Sen , here you are dead wrong. Many MPs didn't get their salaries during the coup. He only accept what he had missed during the time he was away, as did many MPs. In fact, Son Chhay did even give some of his money to some ppor people, but he couldn't do it all the time, and he didn't have too. It was the govt' job. He had done his best to raise Cambodia's plight, nationally and internationally. he is among the best performer, if youy know how to appreicate, and get rid of your jealousy.
I noted that your group always badmouthed him, no matter what he did. Only coward Keat Sokun was good.
Back to Yim Sovan, I still believe what he raised may have been too specific, but it was not far off the mark as the welfare of the people was guaranteed in the constitution.

Actually, all MPs get their salary from the Parliament, not from PM Hun Sen's office but in 1997, Mr. Son Chhay got the money from Hun Sen's hand. Is it PM Hun Sen was in charge of Mr. Son Chhay's salary? sic
All you have mentioned above is just Mr. Son Chhay's pretext to save his face and PM Hun Sen didn't want to press it hard in this issue. At least PM Hun Sen appreciated to Son Chhay who has done a good work for him during 1997.
