An interview with French Catholic in Cambodia priest Father Francois Ponchaud, who was one of the first people to denounce Khmer Rouge atrocities, at the start of the UN-backed war crimes court.
According to news reports, the court said in mid January that it has concluded its investigation and may begin a second trial by year’s end. A verdict for the first trial, of Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch, is expected in coming months.

Can the French and U.N. try Hun Sen on the crime against humanity, abused of human rights, abused of freedom of speech, money laundering, and forced evictions of the Khmer people.
François Ponchaud is not a priest but a french secret agent, Ponchaud prefer yuons and defend yuons beyond all crimes and evidences
priest ponchaud is right, no doubt what khmer rouge have done to its own ple. every body who commited the crime should be responsible for their acts. ponchaud is a generous, religious man, he doesn't involve in any politic party. he helped alot to khmer comunity, becuz he denounces the khmer rouge atrocities, it doesn;t mean he;s a trator.

The UN is like hound dogs, they keep barking up at the wrong trees.
They specialize in the damage instead of preventing it.
They are laughing to the banks with the 100 of million of dollars they are spending on this crooked trial in the name of justice for all.
François Ponchaud is a criminal for trading crimes and defending the criminals, falsifying facts for the account of the criminals.
i wonder how this man yet with a still human appearance can sleep with these bloody crimes on his conscience or is he a worse guiltless being as the predator and psychopath of his kind.

The KR trial suppose to bring justice for the Khmer victims dead and alive. The surviving victims would be able to bring closure to their tragedy, lost of love ones and suffering. So far the tribunal have not reached to the satisfactory achievement as expect because they are hindered by the CPP and Hun Sen who was also former KR soldiers, in fact are perpetrators. The court has a duty and a moral obligation to deliver justice to the Khmer victims. As long as the court operates in Cambodia, justice will not be served because the system have been compromised and giving in to the government manipulation.
The Khmer victims cannot say much because:
1- They lack of confident, are not assertive enough to present their views and suggestions due to their cultural and educational background
2- they are very afraid of the government and would not dare to say anything to upset them
3- They have not had enough skill or understanding to argue about their rights and very much are depending on the system and others to be their mouth, eyes and ears.
I don't understand why the UN still repeat such mistake like what they did with the Peace Keeping Mission in 1993 UNTAC and allow that to be re-emerge with similar pattern on the KR trial? they must have so much money to play with...

i think isolation and ignorance are the real enemies of cambodia and khmer people. please learn to learn for yourself i.e. analytically and critically speaking, really. they're important personal growth skills to have in ourselves. otherwise we are not different from animals, if we can learn to think for ourselves. wake up already, ok!
father ponchaud, by using god, could help to reveal the truth about evil and god in cambodia. i think in cambodia, it's like a war between good and evil. people don't see it, but it's there. why are people can be so evil while others can be godly? if we analyze this concept in cambodia, perhaps, it will help shed light on some of the darkness there that we don't understand.
None of these posters above realy understood what Fr. Ponchaud has attempted to reveal the truth behind this KRT's conspiracy.

Fr. Ponchaud blamed the Communist China and the US who supported KR then the two worked together behind after they ordered to kill Pol Pot after Pol Pot told BBC News that Vietnamese were in his country among his people who conspired with the superpower to put the Khmer Rouge in power after million KHmers were killed that is what he called a Hypocritical.
Fr. Ponchaud didn't directly blame Hanoi but blaming the US and China, but readers should understand he blamed the Vietnamese for trying to take Cambodia through this conflict.
Fr. Ponchaud works for no body but GOD. His mission is to help the poor people in Cambodia from being deceived by these criminals US, China and Vietnam.
