KI-Media Note: Illegal Vietnamese immigrants are allowed to settle anywhere they want in Cambodia, but for a Khmer Krom pagoda, Hun Xen’s Hanoi puppet regime is persecuting his own countrymen to please his Yuon masters. When will it end? Is Hun Xen allowing the grabbing of pagoda’s land now?
In the morning of 16 Feb 2010, during a conference held under the presidency of Sar Kheng, the CPP vice-PM and minister of Interior, the Phnom Penh city hall announced that, among the 87 pagodas in Phnom Penh, one pagoda is designated as being built illegally and could face demolition. The Phnom Penh city hall 2009 report, which was announced on 16 Feb 2010, indicated that Wat Samaki Raingsey pagoda, located in Stung Meanchey commune, Meanchey district, Phnom Penh city, was built illegally. The pagoda is the refuge for numerous Khmer Krom monks, and the abbot of the pagoda is Venerable Yoeung Sin who is also a Khmer Krom native. Kuoch Chamroeun, the Meanchey district governor, told the Kampuchea Thmei newspaper over the phone on Thursday afternoon that Wat Samaki Raingsey was allegedly illegally built on somebody else’s land. He added that during the construction of the pagoda, no authorization was asked from the authority and the ministry of cult, and that it was built in anarchy.

Yes, Communist People Party ( CPP ) moving Cambodia in the wrong direction. We need to change these gangsters regime. Why not calling million Khmers inside to remove Saddam Hun Sen's regime out of power. I am sure Khmers can do that, we have 14 million in Cambodia. Peoples you have no choice but to strike them back when they oppress you and your family. We out side will support you the best we can when all Khmers in the country stand up for yourself.
Communist People Party ( CPP ) don't care basic rights and human rights in Cambodia. Rise up people let million march to National Assembly or Hun Sen's home and tell him to step down before he get hang like his older brother in IRAQ.

you guys, this is while you lost everything even the basic rights and wealth to live but just know to pray for some mercies from the evils. Who can help you? I sometime ask, do Khmer Buddhists gonna give up everything for evils and become beggars living of begging in the street with no home to stay, no land to live like their idol Buddha. You know Buddha is Buddha, not everyone can do like Buddha or be Buddha. If you don’t know the balanced and right practice of an ideology, it can turn against you and kill you. We are live on earth plenty of evils and predators, not in paradise full of lovely angels. Since yuon Indochina federation born, Buddhism in Cambodia become politicized by yuons, other practice cant exist but will be demolished by these evils. I really feel sorry for you

Here we go again! The CPP monkey government only helping the interest of their Yuon masters. When will this monkey business ever stop? As I said again, I think Khmer Krom should rebel and be armed and start shooting these coward Viets and their puppet regime in Cambodia. First we have to root out the source which is in the Khmer government which are full of Yuon leeches with Khmer names living in Cambodia and speaking the language. Pathetic!!

This is unacceptable action by the government of Cambodia. This is too much sufferings for Khmer Krom to endure. The Yuon Hanoi's influence on the Cambodian government must be stopped and let Khmer Krom people live in peace and save their dignity as Khmer race.

Khmer Krom are banned from watching and listening TVs and radios from Cambodia, now Wat Samaki Ransy of Khmer Krom in Cambodia is to be demolished. I call these acts a "cultural genocide" being perpetrated by the Hanoi/Hun Sen regime.

The clergy (monks) must take a more direct, physical lead/approach to promoting or defending basic social rights in conformity with their religious wows as moral guardians and teachers of laymen and women. In the seventies, the clergy’s failure to protest the pogroms staged against Vietnamese civilians was reminiscent of the Roman Catholic Church’s questionable stance in Europe throughout the Nazi era in the 1940s in light of organised purges of European Jewry.

Cambodia today bears some resemblance to the India of the historical Buddha’s time where social morals were on the decline and public institutions in decay, the citizens’ fate resting with the rapacious, repressive, unelected and grasping economic-political elite whose brief, violent rules paved the way for inevitable foreign interventions and conquests. Against this set of challenges, the Buddha called upon his followers to distinguish themselves among men through practical and courageous social actions in response to systematic instances of oppression and in an effort to restore society’s lost moral, social fabric and public order.

Students (the youth) too, need to come forth by taking a more proactive role in public, national affairs. One suspects that both the clergy and the students have been hijacked by foreign agents in their leadership or political will. Yet, for the sake of the Khmer people, it is hoped that the rank and file of these segments of society are able to galvanise the masses and lead them out of danger and to full freedom, to which they are entitled.

Beside the loss of territories, the Khmer people are being surreptitiously robbed of something just as critical to their prospect for survival in generations to come: their dignity. We have witnessed in on-going territorial disputes with neighbouring states, specifically, with VN to the East that foreign ‘influence’ does not limit itself to military co-operation or treaties, but that this existing state of affair involves and encompasses every aspect of civil society and human dimension, transforming how ordinary people and officialdom alike view, understand, accept, and more often than not, taking self-humiliating postures or nationally self-inflicted options in precisely the manner in which events are spinned and
manipulated by regime spokesmen in pandering to political conformity and the status quo.

That putting 2 farmers in prison for protesting illegal infringement on their land is disgraceful beyond measure is not in dispute, but how the Khmer people are then being conditioned by official media and by their own ‘leaders’ to meekly accept this unjust outcome - just as whole generations since 1979 have been educated to embrace and internalise this unequal relationship as fait accompli - should not be allowed to escape collective scrutiny, for the moment a people have given up questioning the definitions imposed upon them by their oppressors, it can be said, they have unconsciously denied themselves the most basic right as free men endowed with human dignity rooted in a distinct, cultural entity we associate with a free nation.

For democracy and development to take roots, it is not enough to rely upon opposition political parties to do all the work, let alone individual activists, however charismatic these maybe – civil associations, including, students and Buddhist clergy, will need to put in their due part.

It sounds like the time has come to form a government in exile to counter Vietnamization of Cambodia. We will start to table the idea to see if there is enough interest/support.

Once such entity is formed, we will be able to use every human and technological resources available at our disposal to mount an effective opposition from the outside.

Stay tune...

It's time for all Khmer to realize how the Youn and the CPP are destroying our culture, language, religion and the entire Khmer nation and race.

Many Khmer people would not involve in political issues, only concentrating on going to temple. They usually said: we don't like politic... we want peace and harmony and don't care with anything else. I once asked an elderly:
- Lok Ta, if you don't care about what's happening around you, and one day you have no place to practice your religion and believe, what would you do?
- When it comes and I will think about it!
This is a classic example to some Khmer commoners and we can't blame them because this is the way they have been trained to think.

MP has raised all valid points for us to analyze about the same issue.
When it comes to this situation would the supporter of the pagoda do something to stand up for their rights? I think they would.
It is a strategy that communist use the psychological influence to sway Khmer people's mind from concentrating with their own future and country. They use every tactic even creating fake monks or religious leaders to preach and twist against Buddha teaching without suspicious to rob their innocence. Many are not considered it to be fake because of the appearance and the sweet talking techniques that proved in many incidents. Sadly because many Khmer people are desperate to hang on to a salvation which is Buddha teaching in some case that has been misinterpreted and mislead. It's very hard to convince them to see the facts until some discovery have been made.
Buddha taught us to be careful and sensible before we can entrust our belief and trust on something which is quite simple but effective lesson. How we are going to practice it, it's up to an individual to adopt it in our everyday living. I can see more and more evident to discover the communist dirty tricks so we can use it as examples to educate the people.
