To me, if Ly Diep is Viet spy as some people alleged to be he has no reason to hate Sihanouk. Because of Sihanouk's help Viets got everything they want: Cambodia and Cambodia's politics. Hun Sen and his cronies are just by-products of Sihanouk and surrogate of the Viets. We, Cambodians, cannot deny that Sihanouk help Viets all along since 1969. As Viet Spy, Ly Diep should be grateful to Sihanouk instead of hating him. And just because we criticize and blame Sihanouk for his leadership failure which resulted in the lost of 2M khmer lives and Cambodia be placed under Viet's dominance is not necessary mean that we are Viets. After all Viets have to no reason to hate Sihanouk.

8:17 PM U got your point but I tell you why yuons have thousands reasons to hate Siahnouk now. First you should know; feel guilt or shame of one’s cruel act or feel grateful to anyone who helpful to yuon is not yuon nature or culture. Sihanouk use to call these viets ah sat kropeur in Khmer sense, that resume yuon nature, culture or attitude. For yuons, tool is created to be used and destroyed and nothing else. This is what vietmess always did to their tools, they are polpot, sihanouk, tout samot, cham si, ect Among many thousands of kids who were kidnapped by yuons to train of yuon hatred, animosity and killing, few can survive. Many died or killed in yuon killing training camp, some died or killed on the road, few rare survivals sent by yuons to rule over Cambodia like pen sovann. Did any of these yuons ever has any human feeling toward these poor kids or ever feel shame or guilt of their extreme atrocious cruelty toward these people?
Of course, sihanouk help vietcons during in sixty and seventy. It is sihanouk who help yuons to lead genocide in Cambodia. Without sihanouk full assistance to these vietcons, through china assisted of course, yuons killing and expansionist policy would not meet such success in Cambodia. This late, sihanouk still help yuon but although yuons still hate sihanouk and want to destroy siahnouk because it is yuon nature and policy to destroy their tools after being used. This is what happed to those who become yuon tools. Only sihanouk who still escape from yuon total control because he has full support from china, yuon rival and enemy, and this really mad yuons cause youns cant do what they want like yuons did with other of its puppets or tools. You can remark that while cpp officers, yuon ever devoted slaves went to Hanoi to get more commands or brainwashing, sihanouk went to china to escape yuon control time after time. And this make yuons become more and more rage to sihanouk no matter how much sihanouk help these yuons in the past or now. That’s yuon nature, remember that well.
What ly diep commanded to sihanouk or sihamony is impossible to be happened. Sihanouk cant do shit thing now because he is slave of both china and yuons and he is trapped in between his past fatal errors. If he destroy or denounce yuons, yuons will did likewise to sihanouk.
