An old man who uses the name of Prince Naradipo, the son of ex-king Norodom Sihanouk, will be sent to court this Monday.
Tep Vanna, the military police commander for Kampot province, said that the 66-year-old man who claimed that he is Norodom Nardipo, the deceased son of Sihanouk, will be sent to the Kampot provincial court today to face his charges.
The man was arrested on Saturday at his home in Boeung Nimol commune, Chhouk district, so that he can be questioned after an order was personally issued by Hun Xen last Wednesday to arrest the fake prince. The real prince is known to be killed in 1976.
Tep Vanna said: “Right now, we are questioning him and he still declared that he is Prince Norodom Naradipo.” Tep Vanna said that the arrested man can speak both English and French, however, he does not know how to use royal vocabulary that much and he could also be crazy.
The name of Sihanouk’s lineage had been used for faking and for attracting support, however, the royal palace also denied these cases.
On Wednesday, Hun Xen declared during a speech held at the Phnom Penh Royal University that: “Our officials, please arrest or send to jail the fake prince, just like what King-Father requested us to do.”
Regarding this affair, some Cambodians said that there is no value for someone to want to link himself to the royal family because, right now, the royal family is worthless.

Prince Noradipoh went to study in china and stayed with Deng Zhao Peng, the president of china. He came back to Cambodia and became the chief editor of chinese newspaper in Phnom Penh. Why Hun Sen needs to use force to jail this man? He only claim as Prince but he is no criminal. He is only an innocent Khmer civilian who does NO harm to others. Every one includes King Sihanouk thought Prince Narinarapong was dead during Pol Pot. But there is no proof that the Prince was dead nor having death certificate to proof that the Prince was dead. May be the Prince was not dead at all.
Now Let say this man is a Prince as claimed, all the government has to do is to identify him by using DNA technology. If Cambodia lacks the capability, send sample from this man and sample from Sihanouk to DNA labs outside the country such as Singapore, Soul, Tokyo or even The United States to find the truth. Every one should understand that people during Pol Pot had to hide their identities to escap the mass killing. When Pol Pot regime is gone, this man may be afraid people might laugh at him if he reveals his true identity until TODAY. THINK ABOUT IT!

This reminds me of a pretty Polish girl named Anna Anderson who claimed to be Russian's Princess named Anestasia, one of Cza's daughter. Many people claimed that she faked death while her whole family were executed, but she was saved by unidentified people. She knew everything in the Royal family. DNA? useless...only work in the western world. you can have a line of royal princes and princess, but only 1 or 2 may be a blood to the royal linage. A ruler will not allow multiple lineage as they will fight for the throne. Therefore it become a secret and kept secret for centuries. Thus why kings has multiple concubines. And some concubines are impregnated. Truth is kings does not sleep with all their wives.
