The Oxford University Press has formed a partnership with Cambodia-based United Knowledge Company for an exclusive distribution of English teaching and learning materials in Cambodia, official new agency AKP reported on Monday.
The partnership agreement was officially signed on March 11 between the executive director of the United Knowledge Company Meng Heang and the Oxford University Press representative Peter Marshall, AKP said.
Founded in 1586, the Oxford University Press is a leading academic printing body based in the United Kingdom.
"It is not only because of United Knowledge's incomparable resource and experience, but its strong commitment to serve potential human resource in Cambodia, which is similar to that of Oxford University Press," Peter Marshall was quoted as saying.
Having trained approximately 5,000 English teachers in Cambodia, the United Knowledge vowed to provide better service and reasonable price for its English teaching and learning materials in the country's market.
The United Knowledge's executive director also made known his plan to enhance the cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.

we like it when everybody gets involved in my beautiful cambodia. god bless my country.
Everyone in Cambodia should abolish "English" and start learning "French." Besides, French is the most beautiful language in the world. English somewhat ugly and akward. Let ABOLISH the English language in Cambodia once for all.
Hi
Donot forget ,we are under french about a hundred years.Look the country was under english spoken country,Hongkong,India,American, philipine.English is the qualified langage in the world. To understand and learn more from the world is english. Most Cambodian was almost mental due to they are follow the regime in Cambodia .first french, than Russia,Than viet afterthat useless.
That is my view.
yes, cambodia was colonized by france for almost a hundred years and nothing good developed in cambodia, agreed! although, the french language is beautiful and useful in medicine and etc..., i think english is more popular and more attractive. i think cambodia should learn both english and french in addition to khmer of course. i mean, french is good for something, while english is also necessary for knowledge, too, you know. if you are educated, you will understand that french had contributed a lot to the world in many way as well as english people. so, we can't really judge french and english like this, you know. both languages are useful. unfortunately, cambodia had unpleasant experience with french because they colonized cambodia did not do much to help change cambodia in those day. i mean, there weren't university, school, development, etc in cambodia during french colony. cambodia just started to change better after independence, and france ceded away khmer krom land to viet/youn, so, that also was unpopular with cambodian people. i can see why most khmer resented french for not changing cambodia then. maybe now khmer people embrace english more as we see better development, better life, and other countries under english language developed a lot faster and better, yes, take hong kong for example. we don't see any french cities that like developed like hong kong under english rule. i think cambodia prefer development and change, that's why!
i think it is good that khmer people study all the major languages of the world like english, french, japan, spanish, etc... cambodia welcome both english and french. it's people's preference in foreign language study. who are we to say that we can't learn both language in addition to our native khmer language. i think we don't dislike french, we might've resented them for not developing cambodia during their administration. that's all.
