we are living in Cambodia with a great living no doubt we cannot have a life style like this in our " Baraing-Country ".

Just keep calling it the way we have been calling it for years. Why do we bother arguing over this issue and try to justify our reason for having called it Samlor Mchou Youn.

I born in Kampuchea Krom, since my great great grand parent and continueing to my generation we never ever called Vietnam or Vietnamese. We called ah Yuon, ah Katop, ah Srakei, ah Gneung, ah Porpous tirk etc... in front of their faces. Why in Khmer kandal can not and demand to called Vietnam? that's something to be wondered very much!

Word "Youn" is a real Khmer language and our Khmer language is older than other stupid languages on this planet.
I was born in Cambodia and don't know exactly what it means Youn, but some people spent their life in our country like displaced people and did not integrated in our Khmer society we all called them Youn.

I am Khmer, I do not understand calling any other nationals Youn. What displaced people have come to Cambodia that you called Youn that were not Youn?
Only people that sometimes get called Youn are Kampuchea-Krom refugees. That is a dilema since the Khmer called them Youn and the Youn called them Khmer. They are really dispossed because neither Youn or Khmer want to deal with the sad truth of the horrible plight of the Khmer Krom people.
For the record, since your Khmer seem really limited you don't know the term for refugee or displaced people in your story, look up "Chun pheas klun" that means refugees.
I found now a day that many modern Khmer are so accommodating to western culture and even Thai culture they are almost as mindless as the foreign people themselves in their own language.
Take for example, recently I read on many Khmer diaspora websites and bulletin board, it seem we have come to use the term "baraing" now to mean foreigners.
I do not mean to mock oversea Khmer, and I know mostly in these forum our youngster so they have limited background in Khmer language.
But you should know that the term baraing is a Thai term to denote westerners.
Khmer do not have a generic term for westerners. We have specific name for each people.
Barang in our language means French people. We have Bo, Pho, and Po. but no Fho in our native tongue which is why we say Barang or Brang istead of "Francaise".
In general if you speak of westerners as the group of countries in Europe, the Khmer term is Urope, and of course we speak of the Americans as Amerik.
Please Khmer children oversea, to better enlighten others of your Khmer heritage and culture especially language, I encourage you to stay close to your root and speak Khmer with your family and go learn Khmer in temple.
the better you know the less prone you will become victim of people who twist your culture for their agenda.
