Phnom Penh – A frightening incident took place at 7:30PM on Sunday 14 March 2010, when a nun dressed in white poured a bottle of kerosene on herself to self immolate. However, young acolytes at Wat Botum in Phnom Penh city helped put down the fire on time. Nevertheless, witnesses to the incident believe that the victim may not survive because she was too seriously burnt. One witness said that, prior to the incident, the nun came by tuk-tuk with a lot of luggage. She traveled from Kampong Chhnang province and was looking for the nun housing in Wat Botum Pagoda. Acolytes at the pagoda informed her that there is no nun living in Wat Botum Pagoda. Soon thereafter, she took a bottle of kerosene and douse herself with it to self-immolate. The victim said that her name is Srey Touch, she is 55-year-old. Currently, she has been sent to the Calmette hospital for emergency care. However, no additional information is available about her condition.

=This is so sad to have travel all the way from Kampong Chhang to Phnom Pehn City and only to be deny of basic housing need for a nun. Tell me where is the fucken generosity from the so called Cambodian Buddhist at Wat Botum in Phnom Penh city? Why can these Cambodian Buddhists refer her to another Wat if they don't accept this nun?

She carried a suicide mission as her protest against the rotten society governed by rotten government. We will see more and more suicide like this occur.
This is clearly a personal sexual relationship problem and one of the head monk definitely knew something about the nun and that is why the monks refused her stay at Wat Botum in Phnom Penh for fear that the secret love affair open to the public. I think there are more to the story!

That was stupid! What in a world you did that to your body? Stupid nun! I don't think, she wanted attention. She has some kind of mental problem. Don't blame her for your stupid action! The government didn't tell her to burn herself! Leave the government out of this! It was her stupidity! CHILL!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's celebrate life!!!!!!!! I love my freaked life and I'm cherished every second!
In life, no matter how hard it may be, we must be strong and live to help or defend others who are most vulnerable. It is a waste life if you committed suicidal plus God gave you a life and it is him alone who can take it back and if anyone do it, they are looking down on God who created them. There are soooo many jobs in which everyone can do, e.g. pray for the poor,or visit the poor, beg for the poor, clean for the poor (hospitalized people), try to talk to the gov't about the condition of the poor and when your job is done, it is a fulfilling one and at the end of the day you end up in heaven forever. So, why killing yourself and wasted all of it and end up in hell?. Wisdom
