Siem Reap provincial authority indicated that Chea Sophal, the son of General Chea Morn, the commander of the army region 4, was arrested by military police on 24 March and sent to the court for sentencing. An anonymous source from the Siem Reap military police indicated that the arrest is related to a robbery that took place 5 years ago in Chong Kaosou village, Slor Kram commune, Siem Reap city. The same source said that he does not know the cause of the robbery, but Chea Sophal was sentenced in absentia to 5 years of jail time for robbery. The source indicated that, following the sentence, Chea Sophal appeal the court decision. On 24 March, Judge Ith Samphos held another trial and in the afternoon of that same day, the judge decided to sentence Chea Sophal to 6-1/2 years of jail time for robbery and illegal use of firearms.

Siem Reap's Court has sentenced General Chea Morn's son goes to jail for more than 6 years. It's a good sign for legal system in Cambodia.

The same case of Nhem Vandeoun, younger brother of Nhem Saron. He was arrested at 4th quarter of 2009 and now many rumor said that he has already left the PG prison, because he has million from corruption. In Cambodia easy, make corruption, then you can use that money for free from prison or sentence.
Frankly, I don't trust the press in Cambodia any more, before I bought local newspapers almost everyday, but now I cease to read them. Before I used to trust DAP, but now I am so sorry I don't trust them any more. They published the case, but they don't follow up the case, what's happening with the case. Once Nhem Vandoeun was arrested, the press published as serious case, but now they know that Mr. Nhem was released they don't publish sic.
It is about time HUn Sen regime got to change and curb his henchmen sons and daughters whose has been abusing too much power on the poor and the powerless.
