You are correct every country and people on earth depend on farmers for foods and agricultural products. But Khmer farmers are suffering, hardship and poorly equipped did not get any supported from the government plus forced evictions by the government. Thai government spent $500 millions dollars a year to supported their farmers and Cambodian is 0-land.
The Thai government cares about their country and people, while Hun Sen only care about his pockets and power. Agriculture is Cambodia's bloodline, the Cambodian government must support this sector with all the resources and energy it has. On the contrary, Hun Sen put zero dollar into helping this sector. It is sad.
Tourism is not for regular Khmers, a little bit for tourism workers but specifically for hotel owners, few rich people only.
Money came from this go directly to private pockets and should not receive as much as investment from Government.
Government should spend more for other sectors and tourism should be promoted by hotel owners.
of course, sometimes to grow further, you need to make it big and the small ones can't compete with the big ones, especially in business, you know! that's just the reality, really!
plus, don't forget to modernize the farming method, too, ok. only use animals and traditional farming method for smaller farming, etc, but for industrial farming like big business, you need to have or use big machinery and other modern technology, etc... understand the difference, ok!
think competitively and agressively is better! adopt the use of modern machinery for large scale farming!
