Khmer New Year - A Message from US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton

Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC April 11, 2010

On behalf of President Obama and the American people, I congratulate the people of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the occasion of Khmer New Year.

This is an opportunity to honor Cambodia's culture and its accomplishments. This past year, Cambodians marked a historic milestone when, for the first time in three decades, a former Khmer Rouge official was held accountable for his crimes before an internationally recognized court.

And over the last year, the partnership between our two nations has grown stronger and deeper. Together we have expanded cooperation on law enforcement issues, food security, the environment, and international peacekeeping.

On this festive occasion, let me reaffirm our commitment to both the partnership between our governments and the friendship between our people. We especially look forward to the 60th anniversary of our bilateral relations this coming July, a testament to our enduring bonds.

I offer best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Thank you for your best wishes. I appreciate your cooperation in law enforcement, food security, environment and peacekeeping. But all these things are just like a decoration for good political relationship. If you wish to help Cambodia, transfer Cambodia debt to development aid and restructure education system like French Government did in 50's and 60's. Without this action, I doubt your wishes come true.

Thank you Ms. Secretary of State! Cambodia needs US attention please help them. I'm one of Khmer-American that work for US as well and I'd like to see US put a lot of pressure on Hun Sen to respect 1991 Paris Accord.

Thanks!!

Why these Cambodians love to be flattered instead of trying to learn to understand the character of a person or politician and to understand the geopolitics?
Since when that this woman Hillary Clinton cares for Cambodia? Her insincere praise is not new. She is a politician and that is how all politicians do.
Kill each others yesterday, friend today and kill tomorrow again, .. just keep repeating.

Most Cambodians are having weak minds, they're loving sweet talk even after that they would be stabbed or poisoned is OK for them.
