Don´t blame Sihanouk for his call to people "to go to the marquis" or the American bombings. Even without this call and the American bombings , the KR culd have forced people by all means to jóin them.
We all know the KR hypocrisie.
Sihanouk's choice to align with China back then was best for the interest of Cambodia. He thought he could get Cambodia out of the domino effect by siding with North Vietnamese. He truly believed the North Vietnamese would win the war over the Americans. He thought that if he helped the Viets...they would not overun into Cambodia.
The sad thing is that he was used and tricked by the Viets. They are never to be trusted...they are the 'alligators' which mastermined the Killing Fields, Not Pol Pot. And at the end...they paved their way to the rescue, meaning full occupation of Cambodia.
In order to survive, it is best to side with China. After all, the 21st century belongs to China, not USA. China will keep Viet at its grips...if Cambodia continues to be China's closest ally.
During the past 1000, has China ever occupied Cambodia? The answer is NO. We had good trade and diplomacy with China for the past 1000 years!

Why so many people blame on King Sihanouk alone. So many high ranking cambodian officers involved this criminal war, including others countries such as American, China and Vietnam etc. Why don't we try to heal the wound in the past and move on new lives I think, you can't forget but you can forgive. also I think, no one loves khmer than king Sihanouk.

Sihaknuk love khmer than anyone else but when he go to bed hie bedding with the poisonous youn lady name mee Monique EZ. If we did not learn about the past we won't have the present also we will not have the future either. We want to see justice by hang this former king and his wife together in the public also Hun Sen and it families will be jailed and all it properties go to public auction and return those corrupt money to rebuild Cambodia.
