14 Thai troops who moved in to occupy a strip of Phnom Trop Mountain on Friday, the 16th, had steadfastly refused to withdraw from the area, despite strong protest from Cambodian troops, reports Radio France Internationale.
Those 14 Thai troops had sneaked in to occupy the area when Cambodian troops were preparing to celebrate the Khmer New Year.
Gen. Chum Socheat, spokesman for the Cambodian Defence Ministry, said local commanders from both sides were holding talks, but up to Sunday afternoon those Thai troops still refused to withdraw. Local Cambodian commanders said they will resolve the issue locally first before sending the case to the national level. Gen. Chum Socheat said those 14 Thai soldiers said they are ready to withdraw if given orders by their top commanders. However, experience in the past show that this is just a ploy, he said.
On another development, the situation at O'Smach has eased after two heavy firefights on Saturday between Cambodian troops and about 20 Thai troops. According to the Bangkok Post, the situations had eased because Cambodian troops agreed to withdraw from the "disputed area".
On Saturday, 17th, two clashes occurred near O'Smach border town in Oddar Meanchey province. Some Thai soldiers are suspected to be wounded or killed because after the clashes, Cambodian soldiers had found two riffles, a helmet with blood stains, a two-way radio and a knapsack containing many rounds of bullets were left behind. However, the Thai military said all their soldiers have been all accounted for and that its side had not suffered any casualty.

Ah idiot Siames are playing game, just be calm wait until the final fight between red and yellow shirt first then our hero soldiers can start blow Ah Siam heads.
Ah Siam wants their internal killing each other to out Khmer nations, those 14 black dog clad army will run for their life after the fall of BangKOCK to the red.

its aready happened. bangkok fall to thailand,phnom penh destroy during the khmer rough,people moved out from battambang after the vietnam invation in 1978 and 1979 and currently people all over the world are flocking to see angkor wat. think about it
Sound like incompetence on the part of Cambodian soldiers.
Why was this area not guarded. And if you found enemies had occupied your territory then why do hold talks. If its yours, why not take it back, by force if necessary.
Stop playing game with these Thais.
If you pop them, or stand up to them evey time you're convinced they breach your territorial integrity, you will send signal to them you are in no mood to play game.
If the stand off in conflict areas is child play, stop wasting time and resource and withdraw troops.
Clear and simple rule of engagment:
1. Establish no man zone.
2. If an area is clearly on Cambodia side and the Thai want to challenge that, confront them, even if it cost lives, push them back.
There should never be a case where the enemy should walk and occupy and area, or a temple site.

Why DAP news of Soy Sopheap reported that those 14 black clad Siam army withdrew on 18/04/10 @ 2:30pm but this Khemarization news reported different?

This is so very funny. Top Hun Sen's commanders and mouthpiece Soy Sopheap keep saying repeatedly that the Thais are afraid of the war-hardened Khmer troops and dare not even look them in the eyes and always take off running the moment the Khmer troopers are present. So how come the Thai troops are still in the faces of the Khmer troops??? Hun Sen's top commanders and Soy Sopheap who hates Thailand and Thais like poop need to come out to explain. Lol.
Remember !!! Hun Sen declered no one inch of cambodia land is allowed to lose to Thailand. Now 14 thai soldiers there on khmer soil and more on Khmer Preah Vihear Pagoda more than a year now.
