Mu Sochua MP, is an elected Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) opposition member of the Cambodian parliament and a mother of three children. In 2005, she received the Leadership Award in Washington, DC, from the Vital Voices Foundation, co-founded by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. In 2002, she mobilized 12,000 women candidates to run for commune elections, with over 900 women winning and still actively promoting the women's agenda at the grass-roots level. In that same year she helped create and pass the Prevention of Domestic Violence Bill, which imposes severe penalties on marital rape and abuse of minors. Her work in Cambodia also includes campaigns with men to end domestic violence and the spread of HIV/AIDS; working for the rights of female entrepreneurs; working for labor laws that provide fair wages and safe working conditions for female workers; and working for the development of communities for squatters.
Malalai Joya, the youngest member of the Afghan parliament who represents Farah province, has been called "the most courageous woman in Afghanistan." She has gained that name for bravery for her public opposition to warlords in the Afghan government, which brought down all-too-credible death threats, and earlier for her work in educating girls despite the repression of the Taliban. Joya is an internationally recognized feminist, speaker, author and leader who works with great dedication against the violence of all military forces in Afghanistan, and for peaceful resolution and continuing development of her shattered country. She emphasizes the education and empowerment of women and girls, and is a highly respected role model.
I should like to nominate Mr. Jacob Ireri who is hearing challenged young man.In the history of Kenya Deaf community,he's a very courageous and innovative human rights defender. In 2006,he founded his own NGO whose primary purpose is to promote equal human rights and eliminate of all forms of barriers against persons with hearing disabilities. He raises awareness of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities through non-violated campaigns, media, publications, and events; building advocacy capacities and sensitisation of government officals, teachers community leaders, law enforcements, and other agent of change on deaf's rights in Kenya. His efforts bear positive impact to deaf people in general; For instance
-Promotion of gender equality and equity in decision-making processes, resources allocation and programme design and implemtation
-Leadership in inspiring action and change including change in policy
-Legistaltion, regulatory frameworks, by laws/standards formally recognising the issues and problems that have been addressed
-Development of linguistic accessible materials for Deaf and build the capacity of advocacy teams to sensitise key skakeholder groups to engage in a rights-based approach to overall development of deaf community.
I notice Mr. Ireri speaks up against social injustice against deaf people at personal risks including arrest, beats and threats..His bravity drives him never to give up thus he's commonly known as the Tiger
Other Cambodian candidates:
Sourn Serey Ratha: ... The above applies to a 35-year-old Cambodian man, born to a poor farm family in 1973 when the country underwent a regime change. His father and two uncles joined the Kansaeng Sar (White Scarf) fighting unit of
the new republican regime to face the Communist Vietnamese forces that occupied 3,500 square kilometers of Khmer soil. Both uncles died fighting in 1973 and 1974. His father lived under Khmer Rouge rule from 1975-1979, and was a forced laborer for the Vietnamese K-5 plan at the border.
Growing up, the boy lived in a pagoda, walked the streets with Buddhist monks who received food from the faithful. As a young man, he pursued university studies in Phnom Penh, again living in a pagoda.

Where is Somaly Mam?! She has done more work to help the poor girls and rescue them from brothels. She is a champion for Cambodian people and she doesn't do it for political gain like Mu Sochua.
So Cambodian should Vote for Somaly Mam NOT Mu Sochua.
I agree with 10:53 PM.
She works for her own interest or for her political career.
Sourn Serey Ratha what the hell are you doing here. Aren't you ashame ?
