Fiji has signed diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The signing was done by Fiji’s permanent representative to the UN Peter Thomson and his Cambodian counterpart Dr Sea Kosal. Dr Kosal welcomed the new relationship between the two countries.

Thompson says the Fiji government is looking at establishing new diplomatic relations with all state members of the United Nations.

In the last three months, Fiji has formalized diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eritrea, Georgia, Macedonia, Myanmar and the United Arab Emirates.

A delegation from Russia is also expected in Fiji this week to sign a memorandum of understanding on defence and hold bilateral talks with Government.

Hello from Phnom Penh

Lok Kru Kosal was my favorite professor when i studied at the law school here in 1996. He is very smart and knows the topics of international law so well. I am glad that he is working at the UN now.

It takes one thief to know another...totally agree with @anon quote, "communist falling scholl???' unquote.

The worrying aspect is United Nations hands in these as Fiji appears to be forging closer ties with all UN Nations that are aligned to dictatorships..hmmm
