The minister of the Council of Ministers replied to the 7 questions raised by the parliament opposition whip, but the majority of these answers are evasive and they seem to deflect from the truth.

One of the reply among the seven indicated that there is no direct payment made to government ministers, all payments must abide by the oil agreement and they must be paid to an account designated by the government.

According to its recipient, all the replies above are lies after research have uncovered the fact that a number of foreign oil companies took care of their payments with bank checks handed over high-ranking government officials in exchange for agreement for oil exploration or for mining exploitations in Cambodia.

Son Chhay told reporters on Thursday that he cannot accept any of the points included in the government’s replies regarding the income the government receives from these companies.

Son Chhay added that he knew government officials received bank checks from these companies and he warned that he will track down the documents involved in this case. Son Chhay added that if Xok An declared that government officials never received money from private companies directly, then it will be his duty to find these documents before sending questions to the government.

Nevertheless, regarding Son Chhay’s question about the whereabout of the $28 million revenue that the government received from the French oil company Total, Xok An indicated that, among the total sum, $20 million was the bonus for the government for the signing of the of the contract, $6 million was designated to social development, and the remaining $2 million was for administrative trips that the company agreed to pay as they expensed. This answer confirmed that the government leader used their signing power to collect money which is considered as unofficial bonus and, to Son Chhay, such bonus is corruption money.

Son Chhay indicated that the replies sent by Xok An to his questions, which were raised last month, are not correct nor truthful, and he said that he will thrive to seek additional proofs involving the government’s inaction to ask the government and he hopes that, by then, he will receive truthful replies from the government.

Why won`t Son Chhay go out and find the link where the money have gone to and then force them to tell the truth instead of telling them that he will seek the truth. By the time he find it, Sok Ann already destroyed the truth. SRP are bunch of dumb fucking people. I even RAISE that questions when Sam Rainsy was in the USA making his plea. He dodge the question knowing that he fucked up. Find the truth and then expose it you fucking morons.

maybe it's time to replace some of the old leaders with young, vibrant, educated, honest, law-abiding khmer man and woman. nobody on the planet can live forever, so think about replacement in case some of old people passed away due to old age, ailment, etc... cambodia needs young, smart, highly education, open-minded, honest individuals, etc for leadership.
