Posting on crooked monk hits on raw nerves

While posting the English translation of an article about a crooked monk, two of our readers posted the following comments:
“what the fudge news, what is your fudge Religion Ah Ki media????????
you promote such this news to the world , you want to destroy Buddhism???????????
we fudge every day, but monks never fudge, they just see we should understand them, we are selfish if we think like this. some fudge their daughters, some fudge their mothers, some rape.....

Ki-media. my recommendation:
I know you are politic men, group, team,... but you should not publish religions.

i can spam your site, then your blog will delete by blogger.
you believe???????

Khmer it”
-------------------

“Ki-media, you should delete this post soon.”
Dear Readers,

In my mind, publishing this type of stories does not necessarily destroy Buddhism, my intention is essentially to let people know about this crooked person who happened to use Buddhism for his own selfish gain and libido. In fact, of the many lurid versions of this story posted on major Khmer newspaper websites, this version left out some of the more indecent details which made this translator blush in embarrassment for the victims who fell for this crook's tricks.

I personally believe that the public has the right to learn about this crook so that they will no longer fall for his scam. I sincerely apologize if this issue hits your raw nerves, I understand that religion is not a topic that one should deal lightly with.

Sincerely,

Neay Choch, a recent member of KI-Media team

I think KI should not respond to this kind of reader posting. If anyone who can not understand the intent of news related to bad monk, it is not worth to explain.

Keep up the good work KI.

To be sure religious issues are important because religious belief affect people's behavior, instill morality, thus shape society.

Reiligion should not be a dirty topic to touch.

KI-I hope you are brave enough to not let the fanatics such as the one you posted change how you deal with religion.

I'm a regular visit of this site and Phnom Penh Post(PPP). Lude behavior by Buddhist monks are often posted by PPP. If it is indecent acts perpetrated by monk, priest, imam it should be broadcasted.

I think It's ok to post... no matter monk, king, president, prime minister...as long as they're crooked...so people can know about it.

This guy seem to be a type of person who would be willing to follow anything blindly.

If Buddhism is a great faith people claimed it to be, then the corrupt behavior of the monks should have no bearing on this great faith, right?

How could indecent acts by the monk endager a good religion like Buddhism? Unless Buddhism is man-made and the religion's survival depends on man's behavior!

Sex is human. to avoid this problem, the religious authorities should relax the life's rules of monks.
It must allow the monks to have sex like all other people.
We are in 2010 today and we must live with the times.
Sex that's life. We should allow monks to live serenely their sex lives.

You should not respond to such a fucked reader above, he is crooked, pig-headed. He/They have just tried to hurt your commitment. Cordially,

The guy probably agree with catholic priests molesting boys too since we should never put religion out there in a bad way although it was the monk who wanted to be a peeping Tom.

That a bad thing about the Cambodian society. I think those ladies are full of superstition stupidity - without any thought, that because of conservative ideas.

In Thailand, prostitution is legalized. Vietnam is also to legalized prostitution because they are not able to control prostitution. Cambodia refuses legalizing prostitution because of the fine Khmer tradition and there are prostitutes everywhere. Cambodia prohibits 3G video call but sex content is shared among mobile phone users. Cambodians respect Buddhism more than any countries in the world , even don't want to published anything talking about religion but the bad monks are out there doing this kind of evil acts. Think again

Religion is NOT a taboo, whether catholics or buddhism or anything else.

Religion is a learning tool and provide good guidelines for human behaviour in order to maintain respect to other regardless races,believe...indiscriminately.

Bad ones needed to be removed from institution, and praise for those who do good by others.

ABUSES should not be kept in secret in any institution, particularly in any religious centre.

Whoever that guy is , I think he is dumb . He should have gone after that monk for breaking the rule of buddhism . KI is just reporting news that happenes. That guy is just like Hun Sen, he will have a heart attack if he can't find someone to threaten .

Khmer is not ready yet to accept the reality. Some monks in Buddhist committed dirty guilty. Some pasters in Christ also committed dirty guilty too. We are human, monks, pasters also human. We all sometime committed guilty. This is reality.

Dear all readers,

I encourage all the media [newspaper, radio, TV, web blogger, etc] to publish all kinds of crimes/penalties offended by all kinds of humans in any society! Why not Buddhism or Christian or Muslim people who commit awful thing, and would never reported out?

It's really ridicous for a previous comment poster (Khmer it) to have stupid idea on diencourage KI-Media to publish the crooked monk!

As I know there so many more of this kind of crooked monk, mostly living in Phnom Penh with property wealthy and sex!

I would suggest to the government to stop this ugly culture made by monks in the country!

From a Cambodian reporter!

It is necessary to denounce publicly the sexual abuses made by priests or bonzes.

But from another point of view, the case of this bonze is interesting for the sociologists.
The case of this monk shows , we cannot forbid for one person adult (man or woman) to want sex, to want to make love, it is against the human nature.Wanting sex for an adult is a healthy and normal desire.
To forbid for one person adult to live a normal sexual life is not humanely acceptable and against the idea of civilization.
This person forbidden to make love can become crazy and can commit rapes or other sexual offences. It is the case of this bonze.
That is why it is not realistic to forbid the prostitution under pretext that it is against the morality.Prostitution may be used as therapeutics to prevent rape, sexual crimes and the spread of AIDS and and life's rules of the monks should be relaxed, softened and modified.

KI Team, I beleive your work is doing the right way.

I would like to recommend you keep posting what ever is right for the readers to read and to know in our society. You can't hide the truth and protect anyone is crook or scam. The world need to kow the truth not hiding face. Specially, the CROOK Monk as mentioned above, don't let crook monk destroy our religious and society.

KI Team,
You should just ignore this individual. This individual may has something wrong. This idividual should do a cross check with this news. Did he say something to the others? I saw this news on the Kohsantepheab a couple of days ago too.

Dear KI Media,
You should ignore this immature democratic individual. Most of us know that revealing the truth and creating criticism are part of the democratic process and if this person can't take it then he or she must have the same attitude like the Cambodian PM Mr. Hun Sen. He always appears that he is the King of everything in the whole world. He has never thought that perhaps he is the King of everything in Cambodia only.

Keep up good work.

All Buddhist Cambodians! I am buddhist but all of us have witnessed this fact:

Since Cambodia was a Hindu State this ccountry was a large Empire until the 12th Century. And after Jayavarman VII embrace Buddhism, Cambodia has declined until now.

Khmer people who built Angkor and many Stone temples across the Country have ended up living in shacks made from palm leaves, while skilled workers are people of neighboring Countries.

KI, just ignore the fools' comments. All crooked monks or officials who have hurt and harmed Khmer society should be disposed. Buddhism itself won't be destroyed by some crooked monks. As decent Khmer persons we should know what kind of monks we should give our respect to and what kind of monks we should not. Don't just kneel down and worship an undisciplined monks. We know that in these days some monks are worse than us ordinary people. Of course no Buddhist monk is perfect, but to be totally undisciplined and crooked is unacceptable.

Anonymous said...

this monk is bad example; not all monks are like him, though! glad they treated him as individual and not generalized this to all buddhist monks, etc... hey we hear this kind of story all the time in western religion, too, you know! some individual will use the sacred dormain of religion to do bad thing, and it's personal for them, i think.

KI is right in reporting the Bad Monk. Reporting the bad behavior of Monk member has nothing to do with religion. If those incomprehansive people can not understand the content of the news and are upsetting, so be it.

2:45PM,
Where the hell are you coming from? Are you just emerge from hell or what? I am sure you must not be a Khmer person. If you are you should know what a Buddhist monk should do. It's unbelievable that there exists a dumbfool like you on this planet earth!

In addition to 12:17 AM, being a monkhood is a choice of individual life. If one decides to carry his life as a monk, he should respect the rules. If one just wants to enjoy a normal life, sex life whatever, just be a normal person.

Anonymous said...

correction: you should never...

Monks should be allowed to have sex .Just eat and sleep and getting fat inside the WAT is torturing.I bet the monk who has secretly photographed the naked girls taking shower is masturbating very often .

Oh I don't think you are smart enough to spam it and let the blogger obey your no brainier report,
If you can probably Hun Sen and Sihaknuk pets did it for so long because they hate KIMedia to the guts.

I respect only good people religions but not the cult the evils practice.
the one that threat to KIMedia must be the kids of PARACHIK monk?

Anonymous said...

there's a place for everything, really. this person shouldn't be in monkhood if he cannot obey buddhist law, etc... that's all! even catholic religion, etc have law and rules to follow; so does buddhism, ok! if you can't stand it, then don't pretend to be a monk, ok! monkhood is not for everybody, really! it called for strict discipline to be a good monk, i mean a respectable monk priest, that it. that's why he was ordered to be disrobed after having committed such disobedience.
