Even though there is no official reply from King-Father to the SRP letter requesting that he raises the issue of irregularities in the border post planting with Vietnam, Yim Sovann, SRP MP and spokesman, said that his party trusts the king to help resolve the border problems that are taking place. Yim Sovann told The Phnom Penh Post that: “We did not receive the official reply back from the former monarch yet, but, I believe that he has a lot of longtime experience and skill in the resolution of border problems, and he was successful just like the case of Preah Vihear temple for example.” Yim Sovann added: “Now, Cambodia has border problems with Vietnam where border posts are being planted inside Cambodian territories. According to the Constitution, the king has the duty of guaranteeing our territorial integrity. This is why the SRP believes that this is a good opportunity to send a letter for him to think and help resolve the border problems, to guarantee Cambodia’s territorial integrity, and to force Vietnam to respect the conventions and maps that are deposited at the UN in 1964.”

If Sihanouk can't solve border issues with Yuon...maybe it's time to send ah Heng S'oy and ah Ly Yiep to do the job for the weak Xmer people...
