Ker Bun Leng, chairman of the Phnom Penh city treasury, issued an order to Mrs. Mu Sochua to pay her 8.5 million riels fine within a two week period. The fine was ordered by the court in regards to the defamation lawsuit leveled by Hun Xen. SRP officials indicated that they have received the treasury letter signed by Ker Bun Leng on 19 June 2010. The letter was sent to Mrs. Mu Sochua’s residence located in Tonle Bassac commune, Phnom Penh city on19 June 2010. Source from the Phnom Penh treasury indicated that Ker Bun Leng sent the information out to Mrs. My Sochua last Friday, telling her to pay her fine within a period of two weeks in the defamation case against Hun Xen. Should Mrs. Mu Sochua refuse to pay this fine, she could face 6 months of jail time, law experts indicated. The letter ordered Mrs. Mu Sochua to pay her fine to the state in the defamation case brought up by Hun Sen, as stipulated in a summons issued by Sok Reoun, the deputy prosecutor of the Phnom Penh municipal court, to the treasury on 16 June 2010.
