History reminder for a forgetful reader

A number of Khmer people never thought about Ah Siem wanting Khmer lands at all, they only think about the Yuons taking Khmer lands instead. The Yuons came to save their parent’ heads, they never think about it. How about Ah Siem taking Khmer lands since 1350, why these history-confused people do not talk about them? These people if they govern Cambodia, it will surely be like Ah Duch all over again.
The irate and forgetful reader probably did not follow the news closely enough to notice that:
  • In November 2009, Mr. Rong Chhun, President of the Cambodian Independent Teachers’ Association (CITA) organized a protest against the Thai troops presence in Cambodia. His group was prohibited from holding such public protest by the very same puppet regime that was installed by the Yuon invading troops in 1979.

Cops preventing Rong Chhun from holding a protest against the Siamese
  • On July 15, 2010, CITA again organized a day of anger against the Siamese troop invasion of Cambodia in Preah Vihear, again CITA was prevented by cops of Hun Xen’s regime from holding such public protest against the Siamese.

Cops preventing Rong Chhun and CITA from holding a protest against the Siamese during the day of anger against Thai troop invasion of Cambodia in Preah Vihear

  • Now, who is protecting the Siamese interest? The Cambodian people protesting against the Siamese or the puppet regime installed by Hanoi whose leader is a good friend of Thaksin?

Hor Nam Hong added that Thai leaders wanted to review about registering Preah Vihear temple (of Cambodia) with the Committee of World Heritage of UNESCO and also wanted to register jointly for Preah Vihear temple. "Preah Vihear temple and land surrounding areas belongs to Cambodia not Thailand according to the verdict of World Court's rule in 1962," Hor stressed.

"It is big mistake and serious one that were created by Thai leaders," he said, adding that they have spoken without thoughts.

"If they want to have armed conflicts for third time, we welcome," he said, adding "today we have known that Thai command for second region put their troops on alert, our troops also is ready for fighting, but so far the situation there is calm."

Moreover, Hor Namhong said "the border tension was caused by Thai side. We (Cambodia) want to resolve the border issue peacefully and friendly. But our effort made no result."

"Military tension has not occurred yet today, but tomorrow I do not know," Hor said, adding that Preah Vihear temple already registered as cultural and humanitarian matters for all people.

"We are ready to deal border issue with Thailand by using peaceful resolution, international law, military, or diplomatic ways," he noted.

Cambodia freedom fighter sentenced in fatal attacks

A Long Beach man convicted of orchestrating an attempted political coup in his native Cambodia that resulted in the deaths of at least six people was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to life in prison.

Yasith Chhun, former president of the Cambodia Freedom Fighters, was convicted in 2008 in connection with the Nov. 24, 2000, attacks in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. Chhun's actions caused the deaths of at least a half a dozen people, including two innocent bystanders.

Chhun, wearing a green windbreaker under chains around his waist, addressed the court in a tearful speech in which he talked of his suffering under the Khmer Rouge genocide that took the life of his father.

"I am not lucky like Americans who are born in this country," he said. " I was, unfortunately, born in Cambodia."

He said that after coming to the U.S. as a refugee in 1982, he felt he could no longer stand by as his native country descended into political chaos. "I had to do something for that country," he said. "I've been punished because I failed, that I'm not good enough to overthrow that government."

Judge Dean D. Pregerson said he did not believe Chhun was an "evil human being," but that the prison term was the consequence of Chhun's actions.

"I do not want to be the person who does not say to all those groups that, if you conspire against the U.S., that the U.S. will tolerate or be lenient to you," Pregerson said.

Chhun, who was convicted in 2008 of the attacks in Cambodia, plotted the assaults from his Long Beach office, prosecutors said.

After the attempted coup, he returned to the United States, took credit for the attacks in the media and said he would do it again, according to prosecutors.

The U.S. attorney's office took jurisdiction of the case based on the belief that Chhun had violated several federal laws governing the commission of crimes in foreign nations.

Prosecutors said Chhun went to Cambodia in 1998 to meet with military personnel opposed to the ruling Cambodia People's Party, headed by Prime Minister Hun Sen. After the meeting, the Cambodian Freedom Fighters group was formed and Chhun was appointed president.

The military faction in Cambodia agreed that it would acquire weapons and that Chhun's group would be responsible for raising funds "for the violent overthrow of the Cambodian government," according to the U.S. attorney's office. A fund-raiser was held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors presented documents at trial in which Chhun allegedly wrote that he would "tear Hun Sen" apart. In a presumed reference to other government officials, he allegedly wrote he planned to "cut their necks" and "send them to hell to soon,"

In fact, Chhun hid on the border of Cambodia and Thailand while about 200 members of his group carried out the assault with AK-47 rifles, grenades and rockets.

Heng Soy,
Can you help and dig up Kiet Chhon background?
One source said Kiet Chhon is Hanoi's top spy in Cambodia. When I got back to look for that source, it was gone.

That ex-source wrote Kiet Chhon, but in Khmer is Keat Chhon.
This old man holds top secret helping Vietnamese expansionism in Cambodia.

I am not kidding, people, I found this blog by accident and I made a comment asking is Kiet Chhon the same as Keat Chhon? Then when I went back again and again, it was gone. I should have copied and pasted it, but it was a long essay.

Know why Khmers hate Yuon too much? It was an unhumanly history of Dam Tae Ong, the savage Yuon did kill Khmer people. Until today Yuon have never stopped persecuting Khmers. Unlike Yuon, Siems only want to take the land, the culture, and they preserve the traditional Khmer culture, they allow those million Khmers to live with freedom. Siem and Khmer share the same traditional culture.

Yuon have done too much sins against Khmer people and have always tried to destroy khmer traditional culture, that is make a biggest difference from Siem.

Khmer people in reality prefer Siems not Yuon. From the too many bad experiences Yuon have been doing to Khmers, Khmer people never trust Yuon, and to say coming to save Khmers were all tactics, because Yuon created Khmer Rouge to destroy Khmers.

Many people say I'm ungrateful, of course I am ungrateful! My parents and many old folks are grateful that the Vietnamese came but not me. I am the new generation why should I be grateful to the Vietnamese, they saved my parents but they didn't save me. I am ungrateful to the Vietnamese because I am not blind, I can see that they are taking advantage of our nation in politics, in business, and in religion.

In Khmer Rouge regime, the Vietnamese soldiers mixed with Khmer Rouge, and some of them took side with Vietnamese soldiers. In 1979 it was a Vietnamese trick and then Vietnamese came to kill us again. And now they are still staying mixed all of us. Did you know how many illegal Vietnamese immigrants living in Cambodia now? The country is Khmer, but the whole land of Khmer belong to Vietnam.
