Mr. Christophe Peschoux (pictured), UN Representative of the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights in Cambodia, said he stands by his comments after he was threatened with expulsion by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs over his criticism of the swift extradition of two Thai bomb suspects recently, by bypassing due legal process, reports Radio Free Asia.

His criticism has received swift reaction from the Cambodian Foreign Ministry which accused him of interfering in the internal affairs of Cambodia. In a strong worded statement, the Foreign Ministry warned Mr. Peschoux that he would be expelled if "such activities" are repeated in the future.

Mr. Peschoux said he will reply to Foreign Minister Hor Namhong in writing, saying that his letter will detail further his legal analysis based on international human rights regulations which Cambodia has the obligation to respect under international laws.

He added that he and the UN will continue to cooperate with the Cambodian government to strengthen legal framework relevant to exiling and extraditing people from Cambodia.

Mr. Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Cambodian Foreign Ministry, said on Saturday 10th July that he has not yet received Mr. Peschoux's letter, but still maintained the Ministry's earlier statement that Mr. Peschoux had interfered in the internal affairs of Cambodia.

Good on you Mr Peschoux, this is the right action you have taken despite the threat by the barbaric Foreign Minister Hor5Hong. All people who follow the events involving the issues are aware of the style of threat this old useless dog have made against criticism towards and his pathetic and incompetent government. Although he won a case at the French court with the opposition leader SRS but with mockery if we all look at the compensation court order. That doesn't change the fact he was a Khmer Rouge cadre one little bit and he is still accountable to the crimes he committed. Like father like son, they love bluffing techniques and are very shameless to their actions because they are guard dogs for Hun Sen and Hanoi.

hahaha...I think this guy has just wake up. Cambodia just send two Thai bomb suspect to Thailand, he accuses Cambodia of violation to the international law. I wonder where he was when Thai soldiers killed khmer civilians again and again, thai soldiers even kill small children and burn alive. Did he made any statement to push Thai goverment to investigate? Did he condemn thai soldiers for violation of international law? What absurd is he?

Any event of abuses to cambodians,it is role of RGC to look into the case for any justification,or investigation should foffow up.

Knowing your jurisdiction reserves the respect from cambodians.

Create any abuses in order to chase for DOLLARS leads to weak government.

Yeah fuck that! Thai kill and burn many Cambodian alive a long the border, no UN human right say anything. Thai killed 30 thousands Cambodian refugee at Phnom Dangrek in 1979, until today no UN or human right group review or research the case!

If you don't cry,the no one knows.
RGC should act for protecting cambodians from foreingn abuses.

Hor 5 Hong should know that, and ask the UN for its intervention.

Stop being defensive like roaming dogs,7:24PM.

You can cry all you want, if they don't want to hear, they don't hear. Like recently Thai deported thousands of Mong back to Lao, no UN, human right or America give a single condemnation to Thailand, but when Cambodia deported 20 Chinese back to China, everyone cry very loud and even punish Cambodia for it.

When Thai send thousands of Cambodian refugees down Phnom Dangrek into mine field in 1979, the UN know about it very well, but they do nothing until now.

is everyone testing cambodia's patience? what's the gain?

LOL Mr. Pest Choux! I don't know where were you when Thiland sent thousands of Khmer refugees back through Dangrek mountains and get killed by land mines and UXOs in the 80's. Where were then your crocodile's tear. For what I know, Mr. Pest Choux just serves his Boss for dollars. If not, can he answer why he wanted to smuggle Duch out of the country in late 90's.I think he would come back to reason when he'll be sent to work in Myanmar or North Korea.
