“I would like to request the court to drop charges against workers and the trade union leaders and to request all factories to take the workers back to work. This is a win-win resolution.”

the high rhetoric of strongman and not caring about international pressure has made the strongman succumbed after all to labor demands, assisted by the larger international pressure of recent days. maybe the strongman is really after all that ass in the lion's skin or the emperor without any clothes.
Had Mr Sam Rainsy paid some attention to what Gene Sharp has to say, he would not be in such a deep shit.
