Freedom Cambodia (FC), a partner project of the UK charity Life For The World Trust (LFTW) is working hard with Phnom Penh churches and other ministries to launch Cambodia's first Christian addictions conference.

FC has, under the name Christian Response to Addictions in Cambodia, trained hundreds of workers and volunteers in Christian ministries and churches since 2005. Now FC is setting up a drop in centre for young people who are not only poor but also abusing drugs and solvents.

The conference entitled 'Breaking the Chains' (18 November 2010) is aimed at pastors and church leaders, many of whom face daily the challenge of church families affected by addictions. The conference programme will include a range of workshops on the pastoral issues raised by drug and alcohol abuse and gambling and ways in which churches can provide support for people with addictions.

i think ki media is trying to condition us bloggers with christianity or something here. of late a good percentage of their posting has something to do with the church and christianity. what's up here?

Christian is good but one thing I don't like about Christian is this . They come to you and give you little things here and there and ask you to believe in God . They don't care if you are Buddhists , muslim or whatever , they don't give you freedom to choose, they just force you to believe in God and be Christians .

2:06, try to be a bit open-minded. disregard what you don't like to read. it's called practising democracy. I want to read all things Cambodia, this is the only venue for cambodia-related stuff. I think KI Media should continue in this vein, not ask if the readers believe in these beliefs but if it can enlighten more its readers of the ongoings about/in/around/related to Cambodia.

"christian is good" not neccessary so. other individuals with other religious backgrounds can be just as good or better in a good number of respects. i think "christian is good" is bit too much browny and fudge for them. remember they are a source of problems too.

People have the right to read and say whatever they like according to the article. I hate to see some people pretend to be bettter or smarter than others.

Yes addictions. This is one of many chains that tied Cambodians from going anywhere for long.

Sex, gambling, and pornographic addiction are the things that hold Khmer people in bondage, that make a society morally bankrupt.

People in this blog tend to be phobic about many things.

They are Yuonphobic and Seimphobic. They fear everything and everyone.

Now we can add another, Christianphobic. The Cambodia in this site tend to fear, and falsely accuse everything unfamiliar to them. How simple mind can you get!

There are many addictions in Cambodia, drug and pornography are on top of the list.

Teenager turn to drug because of emptiness inside.

Pornographic addiction result in rape, and other form of sexual abuse. Not too long ago we have monks photographing nude woman. Then how many Cambodian father abandon their family for other woman. It all start with addiction.

These are the killers of Cambodian fabric of society. It is more destructive than Yuon or Seim border encroachment that people tend to pay more attention to.

yes, because they are concerns for cambodians very own survival. however they have their orders. when a certain subject is pressed and questions. it quickly turns to a phobia. a usually easy escape from scrutiny. so you thought it would be a cake walk. you can't be more wrong.

I became a believer in the God of Israel because I was drawn by him. I had a desire to know this "Christian" God. The congregation that I was placed in did not force me to believe anything, It was I who ran toward God and not away from him.
I'm grateful for his mercy that he hath shown to me. Yep, I was an easy fish to be caught in his net of truth. Bless be the holy One of Israel.

True Christianity is base on believing in Jesus Christ alone for one's personal salvation.

Because Jesus Christ alone is the only way to paradise. Jesus himself taught any other ways is doom to eternal hell. He himself has the keys of hell and death in his possession. Christianity is exclusive because of that teaching.

Let alone, he is the God man that created this universe and everything on it. He alone knows what he is talking about.

Death did not have power over him; after he was put to death by the hands of sinners, he rose again after three days. 40 days latter ascended up to heaven from whence he came as a babe in a manger. And he will come again as a conquering King to rule this earth for one thousand years. Satan will be bound and put in the pit during that one thousand years of his reign. Because he was the one who deceived the whole world to believe in a lie. This is the true hope for all true believers that knows their God.
