PHNOM PENH, Cambodia
A Chinese company says it will invest up to $3 billion in Cambodia's energy, property and metal processing sectors, according to an official.
Eang Sophalleth, an assistant to Prime Minister Hun Sen, said Thursday that Lin Xiang Wang, president of China's Erdos Electrical Power & Metallurgical Co., Ltd., unveiled the proposal in a meeting with the Cambodian leader.
The Chinese firm, in which Japan's Mitsui & Co. has a 25 percent stake, plans to build a 700-megawatt coal power plant in the coastal province of Preah Sihanouk, said Eang Sophalleth. It also plans investments in real estate and aluminum processing for both the local market and export,
The company did not reveal an exact timetable for its projects, but Hun Sen expressed his full support for the plans, he said.

They use the damm money paying back to the Cambodian people Cambodian people instead stupid. Sihanouk is going to live forever to protect you from your evil act or crime that you committed in our country between 19575 and 1979 thru pol Pot.
The Chinese should use the damm money paying to all surviving Cambodian to wash out their crime they committed thru pol pot instead. Hun Sen and Sihanouk are going to be here on this earth forever to protect you. Only Cambodian people can and will accept your apology in good term. Then may be those aids would mean anything.
The Chinese must stop wasting the UN and everybody else time. Go to court, admit their mistake, bail out those deers in the head light like Noun Chea, Kiev Samphan etc..and use that $ 3 B paying back to the Cambodian people now.
This F* aids money is good for the hun sen's clan only and it's useless to everybody else.
