Chinese mooncake Apsara or Reahu Apsara, which one you prefer?

An employee at the Apsara mooncake store in Phnom Penh. It is not clear whether, the Chinese-like goddess shown on the box represents the store's depiction of an Apsara or not (Photo: The Phnom Penh Post)
Apsara as seen by artist Reahu

It's something like this that I don't understand about KI-Media. So what is purpose of this topic?

Clearly the picture is not an Apsara. It's a Chinese deity Guan Yin or as she's known in Cambodia as Kung Se Eim. Moon cakes are for Chinese Moon festival so it's only fitting that Guan Yin picture is used. Was KI media expecting the store to use an Apsara picture for moon cake boxes? Don't even use the store's name (Hang Nom Apsara/Apsara cake store) as an excuse. In fact as a Cambodian I would feel insulted if the store used Apsara picture for Chinese moon cake boxes.

Don't get me wrong. I visit KI media very often as they bring news that Hun Sen' controlled media outlets don't want Cambodian people to know. But this topic helps nothing but only proves how KI-media reporters lack professionalism. If possible I would like KI-Media to respond to my comment.

Dear, do not get wrong about Apsara. She live on earth and she is our khmer girl, she is pure and dance for the gods and prays when we need the gods or Nak Ta to help us attend our goal.

Dear Khemerak Voice,
I'm not KI team and I'm not defend them but I do not find any contradiction on this topic, please do not be so heard with our tradition, just respect, I think, it is enough.

7:49 PM,
Dear, do you realy know someting about buddhism? or you just said by your own comment? I think, Reahu is a great artist, do not get me wrong if I'm not in your opinion and I'm also a buddhist practice.

Angkorwat are builded under and for Hinduist religion.
Boudhism came after, 13th century.
Apsaras are dancers living at Paradise or Heaven.
You never went there ? Poor you.

You should also say Apsaras are Khmer girl, like Ranarith wife..

i honestly dont like that second picture. I think its degrading to cambodian women and to buddhism. Dont you think its a little sickening to potray an apsara as a sex symbol??

What a beautiful picture? Keep up the good work and don't let people opinion stop you to reveal your amazing talent. Those people that have bad thing to say because they wish they have your talent. They are upset and have a negative comments because they are an idiot and feel insecure about themself to see such beautiful picture. Most most of the time those people never have anything good to say about anyone. Their life is full of hatred, and unhappiness.
