It is both a sad and a proud day for Tibetan people as they celebrate today's 50 year anniversary. 50 years of suffering is too long that the gentle people of Tibet have had to endure under the brutal occupation of Communist China. Yet it is to their great cultural and Buddhist legacy that they have survived and, under the leadership of the Dalai Lama, continue to live with dignity and courage. If I compare this with the four years that the people of Cambodia suffered under the Khmer Rouge regime, a regime which was also supported by China's brutal policies, the Cambodian people themselves came perilously close to extinction.
How can we as a global community continue to turn a blind eye to the crimes against humanity that the regime in Beijing has committed and continues to commit on the Tibetan people? The world leaders must find an effective measure to protect the rights to self determination of the Tibetan people.
As a Cambodian delegate representing a group of Parliamentarians from Cambodia, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Tibetan Parliament in Exile on the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Founding of Democracy in Exile for your great achievement in serving the Tibetan people and protecting your rich traditions and culture. This has given hope to all Tibetans in exile as well as to those still having to endure the Chinese occupation in Tibet. It has also given to the world a unique and enduring legacy which we cannot afford to lose.
As a Cambodian I pray with you today that the day will come, sooner rather than later, where you will once again prevail as a sovereign nation on Tibetan soil.

Tibetan can't give you shit. But China has billions to help Cambodia.
Even the US follow the one China policy. They accepted that Tibet and Taiwan is part of one China.

You are very naive to upset China. Once you have upsetted CHina, your political future will be very limited to just a cloun.
Tibet was part of China since 1379 when Mongolian invaded all China territories comprised of Xingjiang, Tibet, Manchury, Yunnan and Vietnam.
But vietnam has become full independent from China after the the fall of Ming Dynasty to Manchury King in 1661.
How many world leaders at present dare to upset China included New Zealand, Australia, USA, England, Japan etc..
How Mr Son Chhay can justify himself to play this fire game for Cambodia. He needs to resign if he wants SRP to win election

Khmer Surin and other Khmer descents in today Thailand, Khmer Montagnards in today Vietnam, Khmer Krom and of course Champa.
That is why I say Opposition party is collected with unclever people. How come they want to upset China! The world never be fair for everyone. Fairness happen to one who has ability only. If you want to get rid of Vietnam and Thailand, you must be close to China. No country in the world is independent, even US, it still need ally.

Son Chhay should preach problems in Cambodia instead of Tibet. The SRP and its members gradually lost its credentials as a opposition party to CPP. And comment like this will further jeopardize its existence. What a short-sighted politician that have nothing better to do but poke the stick in the bee hide, stupid act nevertheless.
