Today, I am curious to read a framework laid by Vietnam attempting to unite former Indochina Confederation into Republic Confederation of Vietcamlao posted in KI. Some comment viewed this message as a mind game intended but other saw this a leaking information. We cannot weigh this information if we don't deeply investigate the administrative flaws Cambodia has involved with Vietnam.

I do agree with those six premises! They are true!
Ky...you are right in your accessment. While they make the small fishes to jump up and down to pay less attention to bigger strategies by Vietnam to catch a bigger fish (the entire Khmer's land and people). If this is the case, than we are looking under total control by Vietnamese in the next decade.
One has to ask the question such as..why the CPP high official ranging are always pay a visit to Vietname before any big event taking place in Cambodia? Are Hun Sen regime and the King instal by the Hun sen regime are just window dressing by the Vietnamese? (because event the king pay a special visit to Vietname).Does Hun Sen is power hungry is willing to sale his motherland for power install by Vietname? Confideration - are they thinking that it will become like the European Union - such as comment currency, and economic integration, poltical integration and don't forget the cultural integration...! Ok KY...you are on the right track..the way you thoughtout. What is the date 7 January 1997? I have never heard the CPP or Cambodian government ever valued this date at all. It must be the date that came from a stupid KY's dream.

KY analysis is markedly accurate! Actually, the so-call Indochina Confederation or Vietcamlao Confederation is in Vietnamese drawing board for a long time ago. It is not just a plan but they are actively working on it and promoting it. The too many visits paid by high ranging delegations of Hanoi officials as well as provincial and Vietnamese associations are part of it. During the recent state visit to Cambodia by Nguyen Minh Triet there were repeatedly talks about ``comprehensive co-operation between the two countries``: education, judicial, culture etc. and Voice of Vietnam radio is an illustration of it. On the websites there are active recruiting campaigns for young Cambodians to study in Vietnam. They are indeed working on future influence of Vietnam to achieve the confederation objective. It is obvious that the ultimate aim of this is the confederation they are dreaming about. One cannot disagree with comment that routinely the CPP high official ranging are always pay a visit to Vietnam before any big event taking place in Cambodia. The question is, do Hun sen and Loas Premier happy to join? The answer is yes and yes. They see absolutely nothing wrong uniting with Vietnam the stronger. Cambodia and Loas look to Vietnam as the one who can protect them the evil Thai. By uniting, they get stronger. So long as Vietnam won't change their identity or language, but that is to be seen in one hundred years and beyond. This relationship is only going to make Japan and America happy on the skin deep, because whose are the bigger guys up north they are dealing with? Cambodia, Loas and Vietnam can really be a driving force in fighting China, if a war breaks out, but America and japan must remember that Vietnam old flame is the Russia or the former Soviet Union. If The Russian continue to suck up to Iran like they do today, America and japan had better be on a look out. America and Japan best bet is still Thailand, a more friendly and truely loyal to the west. Too bad Thailand failed to liberate Cambodia in the 70's. They let the only most powerful Cambodian republican survivor like Governor Sek Samiet walking away with nothing and they also with nothing. Sek Samiet was in thailand for years and they seeing nothing good in this man. Wrong and now Preah Vihear issue. Giving Thailand to Thacksin would even more dangerous, because Thaksin is either republic or Communist right now.
Gov. Sek Sameit is in his late seventy today. All of his formers allied had been slaughtered by the KR one by one until it was none left. What America, Japan and Thailand would do today to make the sky really blue.. Nothing , but put up with the still suspicous Vietnam forever. It's just too bad so sad and tough shit!.
This is the reason why Sam Rainsey and all other political parties in Cambodia are having such a hard time winning the election. There is no real support for them. For sure, Indochina confederation spells the end of Cambodia. How Cambodians will be treated in the so-call confederation? Look no further than the Khmers Krom? How are they treated now while Cambodia is still there as a different country and where they sometime seek refuge when mistreated at home, Kampuchea Krom? The world is working hard in helping Palestinians in their dream of having a separate country. Why any Cambodian wants to go to the opposite direction?
Another mistake is about to repeat by America and Thailand is letting the Khmer rouge Trial slipping away thru this hybrid court setting up by the UN. KR's trial has great potential in regime changing in China and Vietnam and yet, they seem to look at it with only their eyes. Japan is the only one that seem to see it better than anyone, but cann't really do anything either, except provide the most generous fund in finding the truth. The world must have seen more or less by now that regardless of how China and Vietnam are good to Cambodia, there are just a cover up of their bloody hands mistake in Cambodia in the past. The UN itself is running by Mr. Ban Ki-Moon who is from south Korea and SK today is the third largest investor in Cambodia. Don't say, there is no political power play or a certain amount of connection into this. It was and it is. Please wake up America, Thailand and the greater Europe. Do something!
Thanks for you last few bloggers for concerning on this issue. Currently, Cambodia political environment is going to elimate any opposition deem percieve to be a threat to govt. Even the buddhist momk...the govt. is willing to bit them up. Freedom of expression, and assembly are strongly violate against Khmer people. Furthermore, the govt. clant has a total control over the country resources, business, military, policy, law making body, etc. Thus,Hun's govt. is the total package diliver to Vit's govt.
Younger general don't know much about this plan of the trio-confideration and is not being teach in school and not event until a few month a goes that some lesson on KR will be teaching in school. The govt. intend for the people to keep busy finding their living and get enough food or compet for the latest telephone version or the latest fashion to compet among elitist people. Almost all the population will be less worry about whether their country will be in the next decade than what material (of no lasting value) that they could acquire...
so my blogging colleague...any suggestion that one could put this information to the Mass Cambodian population in Cambodia. So that they realize what kind of condition they are living in and what their govt. tend to do with their life?

According to the above comment, we seems see that Cambodia, under current leaders, is joyful to join the plan of Confederation created by Vietnam.
International plyers like the US, Russia, Japan and SK will happily support this plan to contain China.
Let vote for China to block this plan, however, China has realized this long time ago, and friendly Chinese diplomacy will allow Vietnam to achieve that...

Please support the Khmer Rouge Trial and unveil the real faces of the murderer. 2 Millions innocents Cambodian died because of the Communist regime China and Vietnam. This blue print also opens up Vietnam ambition to stand up against China. There is no way in the world that Vietnam cann't do this alone. I think that Cambodia is a small country - which play insignificant in either major power interm of economic interest for sure. For sure, Cambodia is just small enough country for big and powerful country to use Cambodia as a proxcy place to test their political strenght in the global arena...Cambodia can not avoid that. But Khmer could use these big power to lead the country to a right full place in the global arena (if Cambodian play the card right! has good enough strategies to stay a way from the full blow war on the Khmer soil). Good example is Thailand, which they are capable of not having war on their soil for a longest time in the southeast asia region...

1:27am, please look around and see for yourself. It's everywhere. Tension in the island of Taiwan and Tibet. Vietnam's spat island and territory in the south China's sea. Thaksin's friendly relationship with Hun Sen that is also friendly to Vietnam and China and Thailand's poor people. Tension in the middle east that puts Iran in the middle of the world's map about the nuclear war. You also see Russia came straight to Iran's aid and arriving in Phnom Pehn today. You know damm well whose Russia is. She is the most dangerous tiger that America and China would't dare think twice about protecting themself from this evil animal and you see there is a great relation between Russia and Vietnam that most of us inside Cambodia used to hear and fear until this day. During Pol Pot's regime, you have connection to the word KGB for Kramlin Government Bureau, you 're dead. You know now don't you? that the word KGB brought to our beloved country Cambodia by Vietnam from Russia. In the year of 1977 was the year of hell on this earth in Cambodia. There was famine, all type of deceases and execution by the KR. All was in the name of destroying the KGB and the Vietnamese. You too need to wake up and be ready to make a decision and you must to make it right this time.
The word CIA could also get you killed in Pol Pot's time, but there wasn't any, except most Cambodian were former Lon Nol's government workers.
At one point though, about 2000 people or former students vanished over night in the districts down below Thmor Kol in Battambang province. Gov. Sek Sam Eit wanted to liberate all of us. His special allies inside Cambodia were secretly told to leave Cambodia thru Pailin. The mission failed. One of the Khmer Rouge's special bodyguard who was very intelligent and the son of former Cambidia's official worker killed the very person he was suposed to protected, the head of the KR who ran that district and villages. The young man then killed himself. The next day two thousand Kong Chalat or group of the front line workers were loaded into the trucks and you never see them again. Same with Gov. Sek Sam Eit. He was quiet and withdraw until this very day. The game was over and we lost our self to the Communist Vietnam and China.

Will Indochina be recognized by the UN? Says at the final breath ALL khmers wake up and oppose to this? Will the UN on people side?
Anything is possible with Hun sen and King Norodom Sihamoni's signatures. No one can do anything to anybody without their consent, but you saw Hun Sen and the Loas PM's attitude. They are happy and fully agree to be with Vietnam to teach Thailand a lesson. At least for now. We all need to be awared of this. With Vietnam makes Thailand thinks twice before messing up with our country and Loas.
What Thailand can do to gain the trust and love from our people again? Leave Preah Vihear and the surrounding area alone. Start respecting other people right of existing. Open up the great market and economic system that would give Cambodian and Loasian some power to buy and sell.
Asia one currency is coming in 2015 or so, but we don't see Thailand deos anything significant to help this. Is it because Thailand is too poor to do so? Probably. Just want to add what you're already said..this is about time that all Khmer, no matter where they are living...we should come together and claim our own motherland back. We Khmer are entitle to build our country, our home in our own land as our ancestors had build for us. Furthermore, they leave us such as Prea Vehear, Angkor wat and others Khmer monuments so that Khmer realize that we are all coming from a proud raise. We are children of Khmer empire!
