Air France says it will begin regular flights between Paris and Phnom Penh, Cambodia starting next March.
The three weekly flights between Paris and the former French protectorate will make Air France the first European air carrier to fly to Cambodia, said Khek Norinda, spokesman for the company that runs Cambodia's airports. Its two international airports are currently served only by Asian carriers.
The flights will have a connection in Bangkok and will begin March 27, 2011, Air France said in a statement Thursday.
Air France is part of the Air France-KLM group.

It`s about time that air`s France starting bussiness in CAMBODIA,how about UTA where the held are they?.It`s been for 40 years since ,i was 10 years old of age.It doesn`t matter who they would like to marry Cambodian women!.We are CAMBODIAN government really need a lot of smart peoples like SANGKUMREASSNIYUM`s era.
We are waiting for that. Hope more direct flights from Europe, the US, Japan...so that it will help our tourism blooming up.
with this, i hope societe aeroport will expand all cambodia's international airport to 3500 meters runway in length by 45 meters in width to make them meet large international airport standard because it seems cambodia's airport is smaller compare to regional airports in southeast asia. cambodia needs to expand our international airports to handle jumbo jets and long haul flights, etc... i hope they look into expansion of khmer airports soon!
